What tires should I buy? 2015 IS250
So i got work done at my lexus dealer and they told me my car would need new tires soon. It has 24000 miles on those tires and they are already in the "yellow". I dont really like the tires on right now anyways because I could hear every single thing on the road. I'd like a more quiet ride. I live in TN where it snows occasionally. Just wanted some opinions on what tires I should pick up. I was thinking Michelin Pilot Sport.

Dunlop Sport Maxx RT or the Goodyear eagle F1 asymmetric 2/3 are the ones designed more for comfort while being A-rated summer high performance tires.

I currently have michelin pilot sport a/s 3, on mine. On a previous car, I had continental extremecontact DWS and they did pretty well on the snow, and were pretty quiet on the highway

How's the michelin pilot sport a/s 3....i am thinking of getting them....Are they good for light winter driving? I don't like changing tire and in Toronto it doesn't snow much so i am thinking of getting a good all weather or all season tires.

I haven't driven the Michelins in snow. However, I can say the Continental Extremecontacts did do pretty well in snow in the St Louis area (drove a couple winters with them in light snow).

Next up may be the new Bridgestone Turanza T001's; it is very soft riding, and reasonably quiet.
The Cinturato P7's and Turanza T001's are "touring" tires, with a quieter and softer ride.
Touring tires offer a blend of sports and luxury using a softer and more flexible side wall.
Also make sure you use the correct load and speed rating, because the higher the load and speed rating, the stiffer the side walls, for a firmer and noisier ride.
For a soft quiet ride, avoid sports tires like: Bridgestone Potenza RE050A, and Dunlop SP Sport Maxx 050's which are common OEM on Lexus IS and GS.
I would also be careful of Michelin Pilot Sport, because they are sports tires too.
For Michelin, their touring tires are the Primacy Series...

I just installed a set on my IS and I hate them. They have extreme cornering grip but I can really hear them when driving straight.
Ive heard great things about the Pilot Sport A/S and wish I got those instead. I believe the tread wear eating is much higher too compared to the MPSS.

go with the Pilot Sport A/S 3+ if you are thinking about driving in snow. I would not drive the Super Sports or the 4S (New model) in winter weather conditions. The equivalent Continentals may be a good get and usually have better winter traction.

The Continentals are quieter than the PSS. But for maximum summer street performance, PSS is way to go.

I also have Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3+ on my IS 250. Installed this past February; seems fine in Seattle rain. Pretty quiet and I expect them to last much longer than the OEM tires.

Just for FYI, I just purchased a set of 235/40/18 (went little wider in the front) and 255/35/18 PSS installed for $870 from Costco. None of the tires shop would match or beat that price.
I was looking for 255 for the rear in A/S 3+, but they didn't have that size at Costco.
