Any news on newer engines?
It seems like most manufacturers are going the way of 2.0 Turbos.
The IS250 and IS350 have been using the same engine for quite some time now. Is it safe to say there might be a newer engine coming out? It would suck to buy one now and have a new engine come out next year.

When I last spoke to a member of Lexus Product Council, a 2.0T is slated to replace the 2.5L V6. Question remains will it grace the 2015 or 2016 IS. Personally I believe we'll see the IS200t for 2015 and watch the 3.5L DI V6 soldier on for one more year (good chance too if the GS and RC are still using the 350 motor for 2015 model years). Reason I say this is because the same person from LPC also informed me of the Twin Turbo V6 and V8's Lexus has on the horizon. This would coincide with 3.5 being 10 years old (first available on the 2006 IS350 in 2005.) so a decade later and we may have a new TTV6 in place of the IS350, perhaps IS300t??
Anyways always fun to talk about what's coming. To reiterate these are my words and info from my source so take it with a grain of salt. Will obviously pass on more information as it becomes available

Another way to look at it might suck to miss out on the IS 350 V6 only to see it replaced with a turbo 4-banger (which say makes 300HP), but gets a much less flat power curve. Its a joy to have a normally aspirated engine that makes > 300HP. Neither Audi, or BMW offer that. Get one before they're extinct!
