Default I think the stock headlamps aren't bright enough?

Is it just me? When I drive in the evening, I just feel that the stock headlamps aren't bright enough. Or perhaps, it's because I'm getting old and my vision is not as good as before? lol

Do you have the HIDs or LEDs? I think the LEDs put out a decent amount of light. I have HIDs in the s2k and comparing the two, the IS LEDs are more than adequate. Did you tint your windshield?

HID has slightly better output but the LEDs have better longevity. And besides anything is better than halogen.

LED is the future for automobile lighting. Think of music...halogen is cassette, HID is CD and LED is digital. Yes, HID is brighter but more yellow, but LED uses even less energy, will last the lifetime of your car, offers options for styling and is whiter and matches your DRLs. I spent over $2,000 to upgrade the lighting on my Harley-Davidson to LED. BMW is charging $1,600 to upgrade from HID to LED on the new 4 Series.

I only wish Lexus would have upgraded the fog lights from halogen to LED or even HID.

I think it is more of a matter of perspective. Other drivers find LED to be too bright so I think Lexus has our headlights tilted a little too far down. Next time you go downhill or uphill check the range of the beam in comparison to when you are on a flat road. Though HIDs do have more forward range than LED, and LEDs give a wider beam.

I actually really like the headlights on this car. It lights up reflective white strips really well so that they glow.

I own a 350 F Sport, assuming they are LED DRL and headlamp.

I must agree that the headlight's don't provide a 'wide' beam.(This may be due do the fact of it being LED)

I was actually comparing my headlights the other day with other HID's(BMW/Benz/S2k(best HID Projector)).
The beam on our cars shoot out a very strong light forward. It is a very weak lighting on the 'side' of the car. The cutoff line is not so good either.

I have the LEDs on my 3IS and I agree they are not as bright as some OEM HIDs. I had the car side by side with my 13 370Z and the Z's light pattern, cutoff, and output to the f/s was much better than the LEDs. I am sure the brightness is all due to the kelvin rating of the bulbs. Most OEM use bulbs in the 4300 range, as it is the best light output rating. The LEDs appear to be in the 5000-6000 kelvin range, so the amount of usable light output is diminished over 4300.

My friend took this pic tonight. Sorry it's blurry. But it's not with high beams on. We thought it was plenty bright.

I am absolutely horrible at night photos and doing it while driving is even worse so I did these in no traffic areas.

First one is to show in an area with streets lights ...my headlights stand out with a different hue so you can see where they go. They do a good lighting up the white strips.

Second pic is with zero lights around.

The LED's on my 350 f sport dont seem as bright as the pictures above. I do feel they could have been brighter. I had better visibility in my 05 Acura TL with stock 10 year h.i.d. bulbs

They seem plenty bright enough to me. I can see everything they light up clearly.

I think what you want is more distance out of them not more brightness. That means you need to change the construction of the housing and not necessarily the bulbs.
