I'm hoping the hybrid IS will make it to the US this year.

Same in Asia. Only in North America where we have a dud marketing manager whom seems to think he can make Americans buy a stripped down Lexus.

I think Audi has one for writing right? Would be great if Lexus went this route.

That would be awesome. I hope the new touchpad control system isn't as laggy as our current mousepad thing.

On my current A6 touchpad is used only for entering navigation inputs (letters and numbers) and for preset radio stations. To be honest I don't find touchpad being a cool feature. IMO the best way to control infotainment system is by having a **** and a couple of assisting buttons.

Scrolling is easiest when done by scrolling a **** and a volume button on steering needs to be changed to a roller instead of the way 3IS has it (whatever it is called)

If they went to the scroll wheel than the entire GUI would have to change so it is flat like BMW/Audi systems where you can only move Up and Down in a menu. The scroll wheel is easier because its as basic as it gets. When you get rid of the mouse thing you lose the ability of using real estate on the screen for various functionality (like the radio screen). You also lose the ability to screen move around the Nav map more precisely.

I won't say the mouse and I are friends but we tolerate each other more now that I turned its sensitivity all the way up and lost that clunky feel with the haptic feedback. Still needs more DPI so it moves the cursor more with less movement of the mouse.

If you asked me a question which system would you choose Audi MMI or what the Lexus has, my answer without any thinking would be Audi MMI. It is hands down the most intuitive and easiest system that I have experienced (better than iDrive in BMW and Command system in Merc).

German systems use pretty much all of the real estate of their screens. You are right about the scroller's going only up and down only. But there are also some assisting buttons that correspond to the each corner of the screen. Furthermore, every German car has "back" button, which I personally think it is a big time omission on Lexus part. IMO the car manufacturer needs to design its system by adopting "easy-to-use" philosophy as being the most important factor and only then they can throw the features. Until the former is not satisfied no room for the latter.

[QUOTE=SonyHome;8323791]We should be getting seat coolers and memory at our price range![/QUOTE
I am loosing interest in buying a 350 F Sport because I must take red seats and more incredibly, No seat or mirror memory. What was Lexus thinking. They are not the only game in town in this catagory

Why would you have to take red seats? They also come in black and gray.

Yes, don't go by that. F Sport interior is available in black, red, and gray.

The other items are correct, however. You cannot get memory seating in the F Sport.

I might be misunderstanding what you guys are referring to as ventilated seats, but the premium package on the 2014 IS gives you ventilated seats...even with the nuluxe leather. It's only a ~$500 option.

Welcome to CL.

Ventilated means the seats blow cool air through the perforated leather. The luxury package which offers leather over NuLuxe comes with ventilation.

Lastly there is no NuLuxe that offers ventilation, only heated seats.
