Default ATX owners: Are you installing front license plate?

I see folks around town without front plates. I hear that the local police do not enforce having those on.

For F-sport owners, are you putting plates on the front? Seems a shame to have to drill into that grille. I'm going to only install on the rear and see if I have any issues.

I got it at grimmspeed.com , it's 79 bucks but I think it's worth it for the hassle from the cops and keeps the grill looking how it's supposed too ..... FRESH :-)

Looks good. How invasive is the install? Assuming non-invasive?

Quickest thing to install , just remove the tow hook plate on the bumper and they give u a bar that u screw in , no cutting or drilling , then just bolt up ! Took 5 to 10 min tops !! U can adjust it to exactly where u want it ;-)

Great to hear. The website said there was no drilling/manufacturing, but I wanted to hear from an actual user. The idea of drilling my brand new car is not very appealing. I'm going to order one. Thanks for the tip!

Got pulled over last night by the Dallas PD. Luckily I had a paper plate and just gave me a warning that it's a offense for not having front and rear. Not just a fix-it ticket!

Waiting on my Grimmspeed to arrive along with my actual plates!

Have an IS350 F Sport on order thats currently "at port" and they claim will be delivered by 12/28-12/30. I asked them (Lexus of Austin) to not drill holes into the bumper upon delivery and let them know I would be relocating the front plate this way. I have not heard back from them (via email) with an answer yet, but I am hoping they are alright with not drilling the bumper.

I did get a ticket down on the South Side of Austin last year in my G37 for not having a front plate, ever since I got a front plate with the same mount for my G and it was great.

They should not drill the front because when you get your car you wont have plates anyway. When I picked up my car from LOA, they gave me the kit for the front plate (and screws), but they never put front temp plates on anyway. Better to be safe than sorry I suppose.

BTW, just found this article. Apparently since 9/1/2013, Texas can legally fine you for no front plates. Probably in Austin (esp Travis county), they will be more forgiving, but it certainly looks like its more risky now.

Good news is we have options like the Grimmspeed.

price should be more like $49

The only difference with the 350z toe hook is the thread/size of the toe-hook shaft. But, they might be the same.....I have the GTR toe-hook front license plate kit, I'll try and verify later.

Ebay has them for the old IS, but I'm not sure if it's the same as the current model
