Max volume on ML?
#2
Should be 60 max. I usually never go over 30 though when listening via BT. I tried 40 once and it was way too loud at that point for me (windows up).
It's nice to have the headroom though for quieter sources and songs.

65 is the max (I believe). On my way home from the dealership, I hooked up my phone to the audio system and I could hardly hear my music. I was getting kinda mad that I could barely hear the music... then I realized that the volume on my phone actually affected the volume of the music coming through the car.
Felt really dumb.

Once you turn the volume up on your phone, then the music will get louder. I usually have it on 20-25. I wish the music coming from your phone wasn't affected by the volume that your phone it set on. I usually have my phone set on Vibrate or Low.

I used to play my radio loud but I been trying to be better. I try to keep the radio around 6-8 ...then 14-17 for a really good song. I think listening to 1k+ W stereo systems back as a kid cruising the streets for girls made me paranoid I was going to lose my hearing because I couldn't imagine 45-50 on the ML now. You're crazy girl!

ha ha hah omg! With a 835W stereo system they not only hear you 2 blocks away, they are singing the words with you!

The amount of sound depends on the source. When i listen to the radio or CD, i usually set the volume to 12-14. If i use bluetooth, it's 30-35. Still the same amount of sound delivered.
The system max is 65.

Whether I'm on XM, iPod via USB, or over Bluetooth I've listened at max volume. Is my sound system defective? I mean, 35-40 for volume is a routine, comfortable, talk to your passengers level...

Wow, seriously? I ROUTINELY listen to mine at maximum volume (63, for the record) and always catch myself thinking "I wish this sound system were louder."

Do you have the Mark Levinson or the regular system? I'm not sure how different the loudness is for both, but I'd guess that the standard system doesn't have as much headroom.
