This was a new one for me. Went to head out for dinner, started the car, and found this. I hit Menu, then back to the map and it returned to normal. (for clarification, I was in my driveway, not on a boat)

It's been a week and I have had no reboots.I am upbeat on it being fixed. For those that had their media units replaced earlier, how soon after the replacement did it start rebooting again?

I took my car yesterday for my 5,000 service and they kept it overnight to try and replicate the reboot issue. Mine usually happens on a cold start. They WERE able to replicate the reboot (surprising, right?) performed a hard reboot or whatever it's called and told me to not import my contacts for a week and see if that helps. I don't think that has anything to do with it, but, what do I know I'll try. Later I got a call from the service guy and he said that there is a firmware update coming out on the 17th of next month. So, we'll see.......
On a side note - after this visit, I now can see artist information including pictures on my FM station just like my satellite stations. Hmmm.

I had my 6 month/5k done today and had them update the firmware. I had V10A8710 (build date 10/10/13) originally and only had the system re-boot only once in 6 months. It has never froze on me. They updated it with V10B8710. I do notice that the mouse is smoother moving on the screen, and the screens change a little quicker than before (ex: scrolling through music channels or switching between navi and home screens).

There's only one person on this forum reporting a cure (zero resets) after a relatively recent radio replacement (last spring, I think). Whether Lexus corporate knows or cares about what happened to him is a different story, as people are still reporting i-Pod errors after recent upload "cures."
I've been giving thought to paying off my loan, as everything else on my car works, but the silent treatment from Lexus corporate and my dealer on this issue has given me pause. It's been 9 months since I bought my car--problems since day one, and it's really getting old.

After my radio was replaced last December (after a failed software upload which made things worse), it took three weeks before I got my first reset. Since then, the frequency has picked up--last week, I had two resets in the span of a minute, shortly after starting the car. Lost, if it happened to you once, it can happen again (for your sake, I hope I'm wrong).
