Long answer: If you want to have one car and cheaper maintenance, insurance, and upkeep costs (than the GTR), go with the ISF. The unofficial word is that there will be no 3IS body style ISF, which could mean an excellent thing for resale values. ISF's are also very rare and limited in production. I see very few in NY myself. Obviously when dealing with snow the 3IS AWD would be better, but the ISF is fully capable in snow with winter tires (I personally have a FWD beater).

To put it in perspective, oil changes are ~$150 at the dealer (draining 10 qts of oil at home is a pain), 30k service cost me $600 (change differential fluid, oil chg, change AC & air filters, change brake fluid). Tires are anywhere from $700-$1300 depending on the brand and size. Rotors and pads vary in price, Pads $200-300 a set, Rotors $300-400. And that's on the high end. Also insurance is reasonable since it's a sedan.

I see you're in NY simonsez, if you want a ride or more info, PM me, I'll be glad to help.

Agreed. on top of that, i do my own oil changes. i bought a box of ten filters for 60 dollars. and it only cost me 50 bucks for 10 quarts of full synthetic. really easy to do an oil change.

all the normal maintenance services for the IS you can do yourself. Diff fluid, brake bleed, and oil change are so easy.

dont understand why you would have got the gtr in the first place...its a 2014 didnt you just get it? loose all that money down and trade for a car half the price of yours? something doesnt add up ...is the payment too high? did you pull the trigger to quick? besides the ride being rough its a race car, you would have had to know that going into the purchase. Your a car lover no ? nice car and IMO it actually does have a good ride compared to the 2009 2010...my buddy just got the 2014 and traded his 2010 in.....

Dealer trade in on 2010 was 68k

2014 was 118k with 10k dollar warranty to 8 years....

costing him now 900 a month from what he tells me

if what you say is accurate...you should look into something like

Audi RS4 or RS5 or even the regular S5

BMW M5

Mercedes CLA 45 AMG, C63

Going from a GTR to A IS350 even with a rocket pack attached to it sounds crazy there is NO comparison.

thats because the 2012+ one tanked the price of pre 2012s. Look at the prices of 2012+. 2012s are still 80k, and were 90k new in the US

Get the ISF. It's also pretty insane. It has a nicer soundtrack than GTR.

As others have mentioned the IS-F would be better suited IMO to the GT-R while keeping the comfort in the NYC roads... Plus it looks great modded...

+1, there are only like ~7000 in the US since 2009. Compared to even Porsche, it's limited and therefore holds it's value.
