No. She only confirmed that the order was placed and received when I asked two weeks after placing the order with her.

Does anyone know how long after special orders get added to dealer allocation that it starts getting built?

As far as I know, the dealer does not get the car added to its allocation until the car is actually built and ready for shipment. Until then, there is only a confirmation of an order until the build week comes along then the dealer gets the build week notification. If a special order has already been added to an allocation, there must have been one coming off the assembly line identical but not yet assigned.
The notifications for my special order were as follows:

May 17th - order placed
May 20th - order confirmed by Lexus
Sept. 9 - build week notification and order placed into dealer allocation
Sept 16 - order shipped
Oct 16th - in port notification
Oct 28th - in freight notification
Oct 29th - delivery

Thanks for the detailed information. I really hope this is the case with my car also! Still haven't heard back from my sales guy to let me know if it's showing up in their inventory.

Everytime I see or read about your wait I just cringe. I mean 5 months is a long time to wait for a car. Even when I take into consideration that you may have been on the front end of production, it is still a long time. I say this as I am into month 4 of my wait!

What I don't understand is why Lexus took 3.5 months to start building his car from the time it was confirmed!

All I can say is that it was definitely worth the wait. I would have not been happy taking a car that was AWD and without the options I wanted.

I will not be doing anything for winter tires as I have a 4 wheel drive Tacoma pickup and I will use that in the bad weather.

I heard summer tires are not good at a for winter so that may mean you can't drive the IS350 if there is any snow or chance of snow on the ground.

How is your car? Did you upload some pictures?

I do not intend on driving it in the winter unless the ground is dry. The car itself is amazing. It is so very different from my '08 IS 350 RWD. I will upload pics over the weekend.

Depending on the summer tire, there is usually an ambient temperature below which driving is not recommended

That's also the time frame I was told by my dealer lol. Looks like our cars might end up on the same ship. I just hope I will get it before Christmas.

I just got word my car is on a ship heading for what I think will be Jacksonville, FL. Scheduled to arrive at port on 12/2 and to the dealer 7 to 10 days later. Ordered on August 3rd.
