Default 48 month lease?

So ive been emailing dealerships and some dealers are offering 48 month leases to make the payments smaller.. is it a good idea to go for a 48 month lease?
Im pretty sure i wont be keeping the car for 48 months, most ill probably keep that car is 36 months.
Is it beneficial for me to accept the 48 months for the lower payments, then sell the car after a couple years way before the lease ends?

It's what I typically do and if your mileage is noticeably lower than the allotted amount, you can break even when you trade it back in.

Ill be honest with you.... If your only doing it to make the payment as low as possible maybe you should be looking at cheaper cars.

48 month lease is way too long. For that amount of time I would just buy it and pay it off.

You can always trade the car in at 36 months and get a new car even though you got 12 months left on your lease.

Nooooo do not do more then a 27 month lease! You can extend a 27 month lease to 33 months using the same payment. 27 month lease allows you to use the highest possible residual value and thus gives you the lowest lease payment!

27 month lease you can't build up any equity in the car. Longer lease you can turn around sell the car and pay the car off and pocket the difference.

Building equity in a lease means you paid too much in the monthly payments. It would be better to pay less at a shorter time frame and just get a new car.

Paying 515 a month for my 48 month lease but might turn around and buy the car in 2 years if I decide I want to keep it. Still on the fence.

48 months is too long IMHO, anyways I've never seen a 48 month lease with lower payments than a 36 month lease.
