I actually think its a good thing (for those that want to pick up an IS) I am in the market for a IS, Maybe a little negativity might slow sales a bit and more room for a better deal?!

For those that care.. a KBB analyst going against CR's latest reviews... and Lexus going to follow up with CR.. let's see how this pans out...

Lexus Test Driver
The CR video above wasn't that bad. They did their usual complaining like they do with most cars. Other than the acceleration, which was stupid to pick the slowest test car, everything else panned out decent. Again, no good reason not to recommend it. They've tested a million cars in the past with "slow" acceleration and recommended those.
For the record, according to the numbers, the 3IS 250 RWD should be faster than the 2IS 250 RWD. Lexus listed the 2IS at 7.9 and the 3 is down to 7.6.

The pursuit of F
^^^It's uncanny how a select few reviews of the 250 have been at polar opposite to the 350 primarily due to the power, yet 80% of the IS purchases are of the 250 despite the small price savings of less than 4K. It's unfortunate in your case but majority of 250 owners are content with the peppy smooth V6, better fuel economy, lower insurance costs, and the initial cost savings. I am twice a 250 AWD owner now and power is extremely relative and subjective, almost to the same degree as styling. It's clear the market's focus with sales of the IS has and continues to be on the 250 with now a greater demand for the F-Sport than expected. Majority dictates - simple law of economics. If 250 sales continue to dominate, this weakens the case to replace it with the upcoming 2L turbo (240-260 hp) sooner rather than later. I believe when that will happen, will the automotive community then criticize the 350 for not having significantly greater performance for the extra 4k making the new value proposition the IS200t?

Besides that, the IS350 F Sport handles better and provides an overall superior driving experience than the 335i. BMW turbocharged motor provides more low end torque, that's about all. AND,,,let me tell you, as a former owner of several BMW's, they don't seem quite as sexy as the power windows, cooling systems,, fuel pumps, etc. begin to fail as the miles roll along.

Well those other companies have to do something else to sell their cars since saying they have the best stuff in a commercial isn't working too well. I sampled the competition before I made my choice. I was not impressed. We all have our favorites . Aside from the bad press; the reality is that the consumer will be the one to decide.

I decided CR was trash years ago when they had greatly different reviews for the Eagle Talon and Mitsubishi Eclipse, even though they were the same car and rolled off of the same assembly line. CR is a joke.
