These engines are direct injection there is kind of a ticking noise from under the hood it's normal

The question may be whether it is more or less quiet than it would be if it were less or more quiet than it would be were it quiter or less quiter than it is. Just kidding. Couldn't help it. It's kind of like when I get sliced meat at the deli and the person asks me how I want it sliced, even though ther is no gauge or any way to meaningfully communicate the answer. Or when the nurse doing the screening asks me if I have joint pain, and my answer is "Yes, but you knew the answer to that before asking, didn't you?"

Mine is very quiet. On 3 separate occasions I haven't realized the car was on, and on 2 of those occasions I turned it off...thinking it wasn't on. I have an IS 250, non-FSport.

Ticking noise is because our cars use direct injection

Try listening to the car outside. Sounds like something is broken.

Very quiet on the inside at idle, low ticking noise standing outside beside front, louder with engine hood opened. But all this is normal due to the direct injection.

The 2GR & 4GR are very quiet. The DI systems are the quietest I've ever come across.

The best thing about these engines is the smoothness. Has that sewing machine rolling noise to it. Very smooth even near 7000rpm

The 2010 IS350C ticked as well. Alarming at first. But once I got used to it and understood why it was ticking, I was okay with it.
