Default sad day for my car

Hi,

Today's a sad day. My car scrubbed against another car and it scratched the rear end. See attached pics. Does anyone know how this can be fixed? There are no dents and color is Atomic Silver.

Please help.

Your rear bumper needs resprayed. Im curious on the process of repainting an Atomic silver car. There seems to be a champagne pearl coat in that paint.

that would work to remove the black marks. Maybe claim it on the insurance and order an AimGain bumper.

Your bumper needs a full re paint buddy.....sorry to see that. No touch up paint will fix that unless you want to drive around with a flawed bumper. $400-600 should be expected from a good body shop. GL

Those pictures are huge and caused all the text to shrink so small as to be nearly invisible in Safari on iPad.

I'm certain touchup is enough for the fix..

But yeah sucks when this happens!

Try Dr. Color Chip. It's one of the best touch up paint I have ever used.

You basically just slap it on. wait a few minutes and apply a "cleaner" to it to remove the excess and "blend everything in". It will probably take a coupe tries to get good results.

I would either go with that or ask a shop to see if they can "blend" the area. If not, just repaint the entire bumper and call it a day.

That will NOT be fixed with touch up paint. Touch up barely works on a small chip, it will not work at all on big scratches. Sure, you'll get rid of the black marks, but it will still look like s**it.

I agree, just get the bumper repainted, there is no other good way to fix your problem.

damn . I'll start getting quotes from bodyshop for bumper respray. Since this color is Atomic Silver, they should be able to order that paint from Lexus right? I dont think there are any after market paint color that matches that color.

A good bodyshop can mix the paint from the code. The only problem with claiming that on your insurance is it will show "accident" on your car fax which will then devalue the car about $3500 at trade in/resell time.

Well if a respray is going to cost around $600, I'll just pay it out of my pocket instead of going through insurance.
