My passengers seat bottom warmer doesn't work at all. The lumbar is fine. I talked to the dealer, but haven't gotten around to bringing it in.

I left my passenger side on for about 10 minutes, and it was still cold to the touch. Does someone need to be in them?

My dealership has had others complain about the weak heated seats and "is confident" that Lexus will surely have a fix for it eventually.

I did give them your case number and they said that they would add my vehicle onto your case as having the same issue.

Disappointing to the say the least...

Yeah, at least it's been like this on any Toyota my family's owned for 15 years.

The passenger airbag light is the indicator for when the heated seats turn on as well.

i have the same issue. talked to corperate and they sent out a regional expert to check my car and another fsport. results are they operate as designed. which to me is designed not to work. lexus turned it over to a potential lemon law case as they dont want to deal with it.

Thanks for the thorough update, corsjr28.

And all this while a long and cold winter comes to pass; what a waste.

What does that mean? I like how Lexus states yours don't work just like the rest so it's normal! LOL.

My experience on my 3IS is that only the middle part of the bottom cushion is heated. You just need to get your butt to fit in on that spot and that may include having to get plastic surgery on your part to get the benefit of Lexus 3IS heated seat design!

Perhaps Lexus lowered the temperature on the IS heated seats due to problems with excessive heat damaging the padding and perforated leather. Check out the issue posted in the ES thread that includes pictures. So far, the seats on our ES300h are not breaking down, but I told my wife to avoid turning the heat setting to high.

Had my car in for scheduled 15k mile service. They looked at the seat and said it tests within temperature spec. I disagree with their assessment, but don't really care to make an issue out of it.

Has anyone asked what the spec range is? If dealers continue to say they work to spec then they should be able to prove it and show max temp achieved. A tool for reading heat is available to most HVAC technicians. My suspicion is Lexus is telling dealers that seats work to spec but, do not inform them of the actual spec.

Here's my spec: driver's seat feels hot after a few minutes. Passenger's seat bottom never feels hot, but the lumbar does. Can't argue with the butt test haha... Honestly though I'm not sure what the spec is. I can say with absolute certainty that the driver seat is warm to the touch, passengers seat never gets warm.

If it was the other way around I wouldn't let it go.

WHAT!?

Let me get this straight:

You brought your car in for poor heated seats, they determined your driver's seat was getting TOO hot and are now replacing the WHOLE seat!?

Did you not tell them to keep it the way it is!?

Please explain; CONFUSED!!
