dbs600, the challenge is the seat warmers are simply that, seat warmers and they were engineered as such is the answer I got a while back from Lexus. I agree they should be warmer since my NX F-Sport, with the same seat design and Nuluxe material as the IS F-Sport, are actual heaters and warm my rear nicely. I hope you get an appropriate resolution to your satisfaction. Best of luck.

Hi Corrado!

I don't know what to say other than that's an unacceptable cop-out from the dealer / Lexus.

They are termed heated seats all over this page:

http://www.lexus.com/models/IS/comfort-design

And no matter what they're termed, they simply don't work. :|

So my 2014 F-Sport 350's heated seats are all over the place.. For the last year they have been almost too hot. I always thought they warmed up pretty quick and with all 3 lights on they literally burned my butt. So I would always start on high, like the car does automatically and maybe 3-4 minutes later I would switch it it low and that would be fine 90% of the time. Last week here in Chicago it dropped down to under 0 degrees, the seat heaters turned into garbage, they would not heat up and even when they did, the heart was very uneven. I know its super cold but even after the car warmed up I noticed hot spots in the seats and just felt very uncomfortable. Now that its in the 20's again, they are working better.

I'm another IS350 F-sport owner in Toronto. Weather has been very cold the past few weeks and my seats barely get warm. I have turned off the timer function but that doesn't make any difference. I've had the car since July and have 6100 kms on the clock.

I just took it into the dealer today for its first service and told them the seat heaters are useless. Based on this thread, I'm betting they will tell me the seat heaters are functioning normally and that nothing is wrong. I'm anticipating a fight when I go to pick it up at the end of the day!

The 3 settings in the 2015 are much easier on my bum than my previous 2014.

Less fluctuations!

Default No resolution from my dealer

I took the car to my dealer. They checked the seats and said the heated seats are operating as designed (very unexpected answer lol). Anyway I even talked to a service manager and he said that there is an internal thermostat inside the cabin so it controls the heating function to give the best temperature to our bodies and to match the ambient cabin temperature (climate control). Apparently some owners previously complained about the seats getting too hot.

I still don't get it. Let the owner decide what temperature he or she wants. If it gets too hot, the driver will lower it down. As simple as that. Why let a computer decide what is comfortable for me? Every person has a different preference with respect to what constitutes a comfortable temperature.

Well, I just picked up the car and the dealer agreed with me that the seats aren't heating up properly. They sent a TSR (technical service request) to Lexus HO and were told to take out the seats, clean the heater contacts and put them back in. They did and then took a new temperature reading which gave them 30 degrees celcius (86 F). Lexus does not have any other information or repair instructions available so they told me to take the car and try out the seats for a few days and let them know if it is still not heating properly.

I drove the car home and there is no difference! Still barely luke-warm!

I will be calling the dealer back in the morning and telling them I am unsatisfied and if they can't resolve the issue I want replacement car! We'll see how far I get with that! Hahaha.

Please keep us updated. If Lexus addresses this problem to one owner, they should do that to all of us who got weak heated seats. I will email Lexus corporate as well regarding this issue. Lets hope Lexus will do something about it if many people start complaining.

Called the dealer to complain that they didn't fix the problem adequately. I was told that another F-sport just came in with the same problem and they have submitted cases to head office regarding the problem.

They encouraged me to contact/email Lexus Canada directly as well. According to the service manager, the more complaints Lexus receives about the problem, the faster they will provide a fix.

So, anyone who has the issue with their seats not warming up enough, please submit a complaint to Lexus corporate ASAP! Just go to lexus.com (or.ca if you are in Canada) and click on "contact us"

I really want to know how this pans out for you. I too have had the same issue, among a few others. I came from an Audi A4 and can honestly say I will probably go back to Audi after my lease is up on this vehicle, too many little things already bothering me about this vehicle and I'm only 7,000KM's in.

I have the non F-Sport 2014 3IS and so far I find the heated seats work normally and in terms of comfort, it is on par with my previous 2IS or RX.

So this problem is somehow related to Nuluxe used in 2014 or 2015 3IS. You may try to find a regular (non F-Sport)3IS and ask the dealership to compare it to yours.

Dealer checked mine, told me they were operating normally around 28C (82F). They said the spec was 28-30C.
