Yup. HQ puts plates on when you pick it up.

3. Drives great compared to the CT. Better acceleration and great seats. Steering is a little soft.

A little over $37,000 including tax, license and dest.

Atomic Silver looks different depending on the lighting as everyone knows. Inside you get some of the gold and beige coming out while outside in the sun it's very refelctive and you get a nice metallic darker silver.

Great feedback. I agree on all your three points. In addition, the IS is quieter at higher speeds. One thing I miss besides the fuel economy is the ability to shift into reverse while the car is still creeping moving forward. I did that once on the IS out of previous habit and the car jerked. I now come to a complete stop before engaging Reverse.

Oh and 2.2 MPG !!! That's 20 times worse than the CT. (Thankfully it's because you're idling and expect ~ 24 MPG mixed

Speaking of fuel? Looks like you are already down > a quarter tank. Did you not get a fill up on delivery? Or was the delivery not complete when the picture was taken?

You're right. They gave me the car with 3/4 tank of gas. Not normal but oh well.

So educate me. HQ is headquarters? If so, how does this happen? I thought all transactions had to be through dealers.

Employee purchase. Live 2 miles from HQ in Torrance. You can take delivery at any as well dealership but you may have to pay the advertising fee.

Nice to see they treat their employees well. Sort of the same level of treatment the customers get! Just kidding. Enjoy your ride!!!!

Got it. So does Lexus HQ have older or newer plates? Are you a 7A, B, or C? I ask because sometimes I see new cars that have slightly older plates.

Cool! You will be the only 3IS in California with CA plates starting with a "6." A nice spotting feature!
