Default Why Will The Car Stay In "ECO" Mode Buy Not "Sport/Sport+"???

Anyone noticed that if you are driving in Eco mode and you switch the car off...when you turn it back on, you're still in Eco ? However, with Sport or Sport +...it defaults back to "Normal".

4GS owners have complained about this also. It has something to do with EPA numbers being lower in S/S+.

Yes, it has everything to do with EPA and gas mileage. The car will always stay in ECO or DRIVE mode when you turn it back on but never in SPORT or SPORT+. Same with the GS.

Not for 2014 or 2015 3IS. Probably not for 2016 MY as well.

FYI, the only Lexus vehicle that allows the mode to stay in Sport/Sport+ or any mode that was used last time is the new RX. (Maybe the new LX and GS-F would do it as well -- not sure)

After enough times, setting to the S or S+ mode is part of the pre-departure check list. Also, I hope Lexus never resorts to what VW did to get their numbers up.

3 little gotchya's with this car so far in 24 hours of ownership.

- Would really like to not have the map come up every single time on it's own. Would like to be able to set the default screen.

- If I put in S+ mode, it should stay in it!

- If the user uses the mode that moves the speedo to the right, it should stay there!

wtf lexus

What do you mean? My 2015 nav stays on the screen that it was on when I turned the car off. So if I had it in media and turn the car off, it goes back into media when I turn the car back on. Does yours not do that?

I will try that specific sequence tonight. However I like it on the split screen "home" screen. So far I've had to hit "home" every time I get in the car to get it to that screen. I'll try the media screen and others in a bit.

It's a setting you can change. Default to map off.

you can turn off automatic screen switching/changing, but you will always have to hit the "Home" button every time you get in the car to get that screen up. So for you - turn on car, hit button on steering wheel to move gauge over, hit home button, click twice on the dial to Sport +, then drive.
