In my region there was only a lease special for the 2014 IS250.

But I was able to negotiate $1800 off MSRP for a 2014 IS350 RWD F-Sport with NAV and BSM. I'm sure that had nothing to do with the Golden Opportunity sale

What I was told is that the Golden Opportunity is really just a Lexus dealer competition. I went to a few dealers and had them bid against each other. One dealer was crazy low and I asked the sales guy why. He told me that the first dealer in each region to hit 400 cars - that dealers manager gets an all expenses paid trip to Italy. The dealer was at 390 cars when I was doing the deal so the manager was giving crazy discounts. I was able to get 3,163 off MSRP on a IS350 F.

Personally I don't think too much of those ploys, this one included, to get you into the dealership. When I saw all of the advertising, I looked online to see what the fuss was about. All I saw in my area were a couple of special financing/leasing plans for the base IS250. Now if that is what you were looking for, it was possibly a win. But I'd be surprised if that program actually benefited many.

Yes I did. I paid 2600 plus taxes for 2014 IS350 F sport package with navigation and awd with a monthly payment of 470 for a 27 months 10,000 miles per annum lease. The msrp on the car was 49k.

Actually the sales guy did the math and told me that without the "Golden Oppurtunity" promo the monthly payment was around 580 for 36 months I believe which was the same offer I got from another lexus dealer.

I wasn't able to get anything from the event I ended up getting a new G37S just like my old one. I leased it for 24 months and hoping to get a better lease rate on the IS350 when it's time to get rid of the G. The IS and the Q50 are still up there when it comes to leases. So the best thing for me is to wait, maybe by then the golden opportunity event will be really golden .... lol!

Wow, kanphoto. $3163 is probably the highest value I've seen off MSRP (excluding those with employee discounts etc).

I got about 2800 off MSRP and an extra 1k for my trade because the dealer wanted the sale before the end of the month. Didn't get the color I wanted but I was very happy with the price.

Most advertised Lexus promotions are nothing more than marketing ploys to get people into the dealership. Lexus runs a constant "sale" throughout the year, but just doesn't advertise all of them to the public. Normally, anyone can get the same deal if he/she does some homework and finds out what the factory incentive is.
Really, the best deals come out between December through February, when most people are busy with the holidays, spending money on non-related automobile gifts, or staying home to avoid cold and snowy weather.

While I agree these promotions do have added incentives which should be passed on to customers. Some are advertised others are not as you stated.
