Default Picking up 3IS tomorrow, what to watch out for?

So I'm picking up my 2014 IS tomorrow. As this is my first new car, I would appreciate advice on things I should watch out for before finishing the deal. How should I inspect the car/are there any specifics for the 3IS that should be looked at ?

Thanks in advance!

Congrats and post pics when you get it! One poster mentioned how he noticed damage to one of his rims after he drove the car home. Tough to prove if it was at the dealer or after so based on his thread, I carefully checked the rims more so than anything else with the car.

Take your time. I would watch out particular for:

1. leather seats - wrinkles, wear. Check the side of the seat not just the front.
2. Paint - check the paint. Check where for where dirt/dust have damaged the paint. Look for yellow spots.
3. Check the dash. Check for fine scratches. Check your instrument cluster.
4. Check for a cargo mat and demand to get 1 for free after you finalize price.
5. Check mileage. Try to get a car under 5 miles driven.
6. Check Sound. Check to see if all Speakers work.
7. Check Lights - Make sure all your lights work. My light was broken after purchase and I had to wait 2 weeks for Lexus to fit it.

Everything you mentioned are things that are covered under the bumper to bumper Lexus warranty.

Yes, it's covered but you need to make sure before you drive it off the lot. if you dont, you'll encounter issues like me when they take forever to fix your car, you feel like your "new car" isn't so new and when they have to do repairs - they remove panels, re-paint, etc.

All that isn't factory. It's the dealership doing that type of work. you'll get human error and in my opinion, devalue the price of the car.

so in conclusion, make sure it's 100% before you drive it off.

That's true, but a good Lexus salesperson will go over the whole car in detail before you drive off.

If the dealer is going to wash the car before delivery, won't there be spirals on the exterior from the get-go then?

Check the sticker on the door frame for the vehicle manufacturing date
Check the tire manufacturing date of the tire
Do not check the body under direct sun light or at night.
