My dealer had the first aid kit in that location.

Despite this location seems to be the right place for either the First Aid kit or the Owner's manuals , I have refrained myself from doing this ------ both the Canadian version of First Aid kit and Owner's manuals' have velco at the back and if you pull them from where you put it more often, you will end up a lot of lint/fibers pulled from the fabric. I put both on the side walls of the trunk --- one on each side.

The "pull" from the fabric on the side walls is not as aggressive as the fabrics on the trunk floor.

Another way to fix that is to cover the velco at the back of the First Aid kit and Owner's manuals and so prevent it from pulling the fabrics on the trunk floor.

I believe thee two items vary from country to country in terms of the design. So it is region-specific.

Is it just a leather/vinyl pouch? Does it has any velco at the back of it?

I have my first aid kit stuck to the side wall on the opposite end, but I thought that the owner's manuals were too heavy to stick (with enthusiastic/sporty driving lol). But good point on the lint/fibers getting pulled - might have to cover the velcro. Thanks for the tip!

+1

I have this version of cargo net, too and love it. The beauty of it is it can be stored in the zipped pouch when not in use. The first time I came across this is from the current generation ES. This is a good improvement over the old one.

You have made a solid point -- the owner's manuals are indeed very heavy and to stick it to the side wall, I have to position it so that the manual is slightly leaning on the side wall with the longer side of the manual parallel to the floor and with the manual case flap being on top.

Probably de-Velcro by putting covering the tabs up is a more reliable way.

There is seriously WAAAAY too much technology in cars these days. And they say texting and driving is bad.
You can also just press Media under the cd slot. I noticed this not too long ago. Makes life easier.

Don't know if this has been mentioned or is even a 'discovery' since this is my first Lexus, but I noticed that the bottom of the cup holders comes out to make cleaning much easier. I've owned lots of cars, never seen that before.
