Radar detector install on 3IS?
Has anyone hardwired a radar detector in their new 3IS? If so, did you use wiring from the rear view mirror area or just did you run a power cord directly from the fuse box? Pictures of installs would be great. Thanks.

A friend of mine just got her 3IS and wants to hardwire her V1. I've noticed that it hasn't been done or, at the very least, documented. Since this would be my fourth hardwire, I was thinking to just do it like I had done in the past: using the sunroof motor power supply. Since there really isn't too much info out there just yet, I'll have to see what's the best option. If the rear view mirror supply is easier to get to, I'll use that instead. Either way, I'll report back once I get it done which should be in the next few days!

I have a valentine one and run the power cord from the glove box to the passenger side up the front window by the passenger door and top of the window down to the rear view mirror.

Is it possible to run a dash cam to the mirror wires?
I thought about running the wires down to the fuse but the IS350 has side air bags located on the pillars? and the wires would just get in the way.

It is best to doublecheck the power requirements of the dashcam. I think USB is usually 5volts whereas the car is typically 12v. Might need some sort of converter rather than just connecting the wires to the mirror power.
