Just made the move from BMW today!!
I had an aging (2002) BMW 330 XI (e46) which I loved dearly. I test drove a new BMW 335 xdrive (f30) and found the steering feel and handling lacking as compared to my car.
Today, I test drove an IS 350 F Sport and was very impressed! In sport + mode, I found the driving experience of the IS to be very close to my car and vastly superior to the current 3 series.
I just ordered an IS 350 F Sport in Nebula Grey, red interior, Nav and Mark Levinson. They say a three month wait, so I can't wait for Thanksgiving!

But the new 3 series does feel cheap to me in the inside.

You are echoing exactly what the journalists are saying. Fantastic to see more and more ex-3-series owners moving to the IS as we see in this forum, purely on the car's merit, let alone the superior reliability and quality. Congratulations on the revelation and of course the car!

Welcome from the other side of the Atlantic. I wish more of us this side were brave enough to judge the two on merit alone and choose accordingly.
Health you enjoy your new IS!
