Default How often are you in S/S+ mode?

I was curious about this because I could see myself in this mode a lot as another member stated in another post. I sure did in in the test drives! I read a review article where the author stated that S+ mode was best reserved for the track or smooth paved roads. Do you agree? Have you noticed a big difference in S vs S+? Gas mileage?

I'm not sure I'm answering your question, but there is a huge difference in throttle response between "Normal/Eco" on one hand and "Sport" on the other.

I don't have an F-sport, so I cannot speak for S+, clearly.

S/S+ mode gets lower mileage that's why I don't drive in the mode often and throttle respond is fast. It's actually too much for me. I can't feel the ride comfort difference between S & S+. Both felt the same.

Throttle response in Sport S is definitely touchier, great for squirrelling around. The Sport S + adds stiffer steering and stiffens up the suspension. The suspension setting in all the other modes is just so perfect I can't see using Sport S+ much, unless I know the road is smooth.

I came out of a 2005 Mini Cooper S, and the IS rides so much better and handles so much better at the same time. Really an amazing car.

I just passed 621 miles on the way in to work today, so I am officially broken in. I'll be putting my foot in it on the way home tonight

I use Sport for getting on the freeway and for navigating freeways. Sport+ is special -- I use that for when I get a chance to get on some twisties out in the Santa Monica Mtns.

Just a note on semantecs and danger of misunderstanding. To be clear, the S+ mode is only on the 350 F-Sport (RWD or AWD) which contains the variable suspension as stated above. The 250 F-Sport does not have this.

i rarely find the opportunity to use the S mode being this is my daily driver. It's great but i don't need that level of responsiveness when going from light to light so it does go underutilized. If anything I'm always trying to get it to the 8th gear as fast as possible to get the most MPGs as possible. Even at 80MPH in S(auto) mode it won't shift into 8th gear so... NOW...i would much rather have the S+ mode prior to the S mode. I should say I'd rather have the adaptive suspension settings prior to the throttle response settings. I like the stiffer suspension on every single piece of the road! lol. In the end this won't matter to me as much as I'll be making this ride stiffer than an Asian boy's hair in highschool!

I won't be happy until one of my rear wheels lifts off the ground when i enter a steep driveway.

You may be correct on the variable suspension part but according to the Lexus features comparison chart, S+ is available on 250 Fsport (RWD and AWD). I got this directly from their website.

Sport+ is definitely not Gas friendly, Sport modes tend to rev higher but normal mode is good when on highways and local traffic. I went threw a half tank zooming around locally on Sport+ within a couple hours

It seems that the US 250 F Sport (AWD & RWD) are slightly different with respect to the Sport+ mode. From Lexus Canada web site and their 2014 Lexus IS brochure, Sport+ mode is exclusive to IS350 F Sport (AWD & RWD). IS250 doesn't have it.

Wow! Didn't know S+ was that bad on gas mileage.

In Australia, all F-Sport models (250, 300h and 350) get Sport S+ mode, not just the 350.
