Default 2014 IS350 RWD Non-F-Sport Front Brake Pad Dust Problem

I just got my new 2014 IS350 RWD non-F-Sport a few weeks ago and have been experiencing a large volume of black brake dust on the front wheels. I had a similar problem with the original front pads on my 2006 IS350. They were replaced by the LOW DUST Front Pads with the part no. 04465-30400. Apparently this part number has been replaced by 04465-30450, but I'm not sure if these are LOW DUST pads or have the same high dust problem from before. I don't know what the part number of the 2014 IS350 RWD Non-F-Sport is, so if anyone has the part number available, I would appreciate it greatly if you could provide that number. If any dealer looks at this post, I would appreciate if very much if you could notify me if you have IN STOCK the low dust pads, p/n 04465-30400, as I would like to order two sets of same. Thanks for your help.

This is strange as according to the brochures, the non F-sport ones are supposed to get the low density brake pads. Please keep us posted how things go. I am getting a regular 3IS soon as well.

I thought only F-sport brakes are high friction with lots of dust. Non-Fsport should be fine.

I went with ceramic pads in my 2IS and eliminated virtually all dust.

Which brand of ceramic pads did you use? Only the front pads that need the attention as the rear ones are actually okay, correct?

Actually, I do not know as I left the decision up to my mechanic. I went with the ceramic on all wheels even though the rear did not need it. He charged me $160.00 for all four ceramic pads, parts only so they were not expensive.

04465-30400 and 04465-30450 are both the same pad material. These are the low dust 2IS pads (material D6893H)
04465-30470 is the 3IS non F-Sport IS350 pads, they are not the same material as the 2IS low-dust pads (material PV565H), these may dust more than the 2IS low dust pads (I'm not sure), but will probably dust less than the high-friction pads.
04465-30410 and 04465-30500 are the high-friction 2IS (06-08 USA models, 06-13 Canada models) and 3IS F-Sport pads (material T4146).

Thanks Jeff for the great info. Glad you are here to provide some real info for Lexus owners. This type of info is not always easy to find.

brake dust is normal for high-performance steel brakes

I replaced my 350 Fsport front pads with the non Fsport pads
there is like 90% less dust
the front now has the same dust as the rear
FYI appears all rear pads the same

sounds like some non Fsport got wrong pads
call sewell they were great with info

The obnoxious brake dust is becoming annoying after owning my car for two months.
I'd wash my car today and by the end of the 2nd day my wheel has a fairly thick coat reducing the gloss look finish of my Fsport front wheels. By the end of the 4th day the front wheels have such a thick coat of brake dust it looks like they just took a bath in coal.

I have a 350 non F Sport as well, and my wheels stay quite clean. Over a week or so they will accumulate a light layer of brake dust, but not that much. I did have more for the first few hundred miles than I do now, so perhaps a little more time is needed?

Good luck getting it worked out.
