Since stock rims with winter tires is very expensive (about 4000$ for 17") I need some advice to help me decide on another set of cheaper rims for my winter tires.

The car is a silver colored IS300h F-sport.

I've found a few nice looking ones, but would like to see it on the car. (no rim configurator for these rims.)
Can anyone photoshop them on a silver IS for me? I would really appriciate it. Never used photoshop before myself, so I have no idea how to do it.

Does anyone have any other sugestions for winter rims? (needs to be 17" and able to withstand salt, dirt and lots of bumps and pounding from uneven roads.) So no polished rims or thing like that.

PNZO is not really an "unknown brand" But I do like them. However, I am not sure on black rims on a silver car.
I'd take the silver Zax rims. At least I would.

The black rims are a brand called anzio, not pnzo.
Appart from that, they are pretty unknown and a "noname" brand here in europe.

Black rims on a silver car can look good, it depends a bit on the car.

The benefits of the darker collored rims are that all the dirt and salt won't show. Rims are never clean in the winter, where I live at least

Hey, I am swedish, I know your pain dude. They really like to salt the ways. Destoryer of automobiles. (seeing that you are from Norway)
Well, maybe black rims could be good.

But if I am not mistaken, does not black really show dirt really well? I do seem black cards quite often, and all dirt stains are apperent.


Are the black ones Low profile?

Black shows brown dirt really well, but it does not show brake dust and other dark dirt as well as silver does.
Gun metal is also an option, but these rims are more expensive.
In norway they have started to mix the salt with sugar, to make it stick bettter to the roads (and cars)

All the rims, inlcuding the black ones are 17" rims. The tires wil be 225\45-17. Not low profile, but close. Low profile tires are impossible to use in the winter time. They make the car very uncomfortable.

Perhaps look into some 19" Vossen CV1 or CV3, Im dying to see how a set would look on the new IS

You have obviously never driven in a place where the roads are covered in snow and ice 4-5 months every year

Vossen wheels would be great for summer tires, if the roads here weren't so crappy and full of bumps and holes.

For winter, 17" are the solution. Maybe even 16" rims if it is possible to fit.

IS300h base has: 16" alloy wheels, 5-wide-spoke design, 205/55 R16 tyres

Ahh I see.

Well, In Sweden they do mix it with suger too. But it has a positive effect, it doesn't induce rust as salt does.

anyway, how more expensive are the gunmetals?
We don't have a price chart at all to be honest

I can understand the low profile (or close to it) can be trouble during winter.

Spwolf: The base model does indeed have 16", but I believe the f-sport has larger brakes? (not confirmed this yet)

Does anyone know the offset and width of the stock 16" rims?

I've gotten a confirmation form lexus that these should fit, since the brakes of the hybrid is the same size on f-sport and stock.

I'm now left with two choises.

Silver ones are cheapest, and easiest to get hold of.
However I think the black ones look better.
I would like to hear someone elses opinon before I decide...

This picture of the silver rims, on an audi a5 made me decide.
I hope the rims will look as good on the IS as they do on the audi..
