Default Bulbs replaced with LED bulbs...

1) changed the front turn signal bulbs to LED bulbs - no DIY for this one, it doesn't require the removal of the bumper like the 2IS. This is straight plug and play.

2) replaced reverse bulbs with LED bulbs. No DIY needed for this one either...simply remove necessary clips to remove enough of the truck lining to see the bulb connector, twist, remove, replace, twist back on. =)

3) changed rear turn signal bulbs to LED bulbs. If there is a demand for a DIY I will create one. It's not the hardest install, fairly simple, but i can take a lot of the guessing game out for you guys if you'd like. Could also serve as a "replace your tail lamp" DIY. let me know peeps...

Note*** i did not install any type of resistor to avoid the "hyper blink" this install creates....but hey..its a lease and i dont want to mess with wiring if i dont "have" to.

Do you have the bulb types/numbers for the lights you changed?

@dojoman @kabgolf1 i didnt mess with the interior lighting. Exterior aesthetics are higher on my priority list so maybe thats why i havent even considered changing those...lol. I like daye that the housings are not shaded amber but then i see that amber bulb in there and it drives me crazy! I'll try to post some pics of it during the day (off) and at night (on).

DIY coming soon then... =)

Thanks to Ken in Minkara, I find this article is useful for prying the interior lighting in 3IS

http://minkara.carview.co.jp/userid/...9103/note.aspx

Part number wise -- it appears that the front interior light uses 3 T10/168/192 and the rear interior light uses 3 T10/168/192 as well.

Hi dojoman, it is not difficult as you think. If you look closely, there are indentation around the clear plastic. Make sure you use masking tapes and tape the screwdriver or use some prying tools from Sewell Lexus or your local dealership.

I haven't got the car yet but find the article in Minkara encouraging.

the front turn signals are double filament bulbs - 7442A

the rear turn signal bulbs are single filament - 7443R

the reverse light bulbs - 941

I'm pretty sure this is right. A = amber, R = Red.

Hi thejaperu,

Thanks for the info. Can you confirm again the reverse light bulb is 941? Are you sure it is not 921?

What does it look like? I hope I can reuse the LED (921/T16) in 3IS that I have been using for the reverse light in 2IS.

That is great. What about the vanity mirror lights for a part number?

Hey AndyL

I'm having some work done on the car today so i cant get to the bulbs but i THOUGHT it was 941....maybe its 921? lol...

I remember, while i was installing them, "hey...these are the ones on my 2IS..." but then again...I'm wondering if both sizes are compatible....I'll let you know later when i get a chance to get to them. =)
