Default From BMW to Lexus

Well I pulled the trigger last night and I bought the First Black on Black IS 350 F Sport from Lexus of Orlando!!
Only problem is that the car wont be there until the 25th , its gonna be a long 2 weeks.

Ill post pics as soon as I get her home.
Hated to leave my BMW 335i but the IS 350 just looked so sick I had to get one. test drive impressions were mostly positive, except my 335 definitely seems quicker, but everything else the Lexus has to offer is worth the slight performance sacrifice.

looking forward to getting some tips and advice on the site. Just and FYI, here in Florida these cars are nearly impossible to find so dealers aren't budging off sticker hardly, from what I can tell I got a fair deal at $1000 off MSRP. Or I got Raped. lol, either way I love the car and cant wait to get it in my garage.

It's not a rape when you love the car.

Congrats... and welcome to the CL.

I am looking at the 3 series and the IS series, myself. So far I'm leaning toward the IS, but BMW has a few advantages: power, luxury options, existence of used/CPO options that bring the price down. Always curious to hear from both sides of the fence, thanks for your post.

Congrats!! I also pulled the trigger Monday evening at Lexus of Orlando on a 250 F Sport White/Red combo. They tell me it should be in next week so thankfully I don't have to wait too long.

And yeah these dealers here in Florida aren't not budging off MSRP.

dont get me wrong, I loved that BMW. But with 80K miles and out of warranty, some of the repairs have been obnoxiously expensive. Water pump was $1600, front HID headlight assembly was $2200 (road hazzard) and all 4 wheels for brakes was 1700.
It was a great car under warranty and still has a ton of reasons I could have just gotten a new one. But like I said, the new F Sport just looks sick and aggressive, and ive heard from friends with other lexus models that it a very dependable and quality brand.

Just curious, what 'luxury options' does the BMW have that the lexus does not?

Heads up display, all the radar stuff, etc. Go check out the "build your own" page, there's a ton of stuff that Lexus doesn't offer in the IS F-Sport. Not saying I'd want or use all of it, but my wife might.

When I was looking at the cars a few months ago, my options were to keep my Honda as a DD and get a 335i or sell my honda and get an IS. I really loved the look of the 335i and had so much more power that the IS250 but it was the interior that let me away, BMW hasnt changed their dash/gauges in almost 2 decades and it bothered the hell out of me. Plus ppl always told me if you get a BMW make sure you have a 2nd car because maintenance is terrible when needed

either way, the lexus looks sexy as F*** and the power didnt bother me too much. I have a lead foot so i probably could stay out of trouble. Welcome to the lexus club tho

First post . . . I also have a 2007 335i with about 80K miles. Fortunately I purchased an extended warranty when the car was new so I have not had to pay the roughly $10K in parts and labor that have been required since the factory warranty expired. The car has been in the shop for the past two weeks as both front and rear differential seals are leaking as well as an oil pan leak. I originally took it in for check engine/limp conditions which are unrelated to the leaks. Long story short do not own one out of warranty...

I do have a 2013 328i sport as a loaner. It's a nice car but the interior materials have been downgraded from the previous generation. On the other hand it gets incredible gas mileage. I've had almost two weeks with the car and am not convinced I'd spend the roughly $50K it would cost equipped as I'd want it.

I'm here because the Lexus IS and GS are amongst my long list of potential replacements. Not convinced I can live with the spindle grill but will give them a look anyway.
