All manufacturers have WOT your car to redline for QA purposes.

I have never done a break-in for all my cars and they all last well over 100k. As long as you warm up your car to proper temp. and do all the maintenance items regularly, almost all Japanese cars will last you very long.

Considering Motor Trend got 0 - 60 mph in 5.5 seconds and 1/4 mile in 14.0 seconds from the AWD IS 350, I could see the 300 lbs lighter IS350 RWD F Sport going 0 - 60 mph in 5.1 seconds and 1/4 mile in 13.5 - 13.6 seconds.

Here is a trick how to get low 5 seconds on the new IS m! I have IS350 non F, gas close to empty , press and hold traction off until the light show up on your gauge . sport mode manual and just floor it .
Temperature , elevation , tires, number of passengers , gas type etc` all those things play a role.
my best run 4.926sec , night time , elevation 0 temperature 57.
by having empty gas tank your shading 142 lbs.

However, there is one thing, the test drive happened in the city of Dubai and here we have Dunlop tyres instead of Bridgestone Turanza + the temperature today was 122F , Do you think guys this will justify the 6.8sec? Please your advises
Are you sure it wasn't a 250 you were test driving?

It's 144 pounds, not 300. The 300 pounds Motor Trend was referring to was versus the RWD ATS 3.6 and MB C350, not the RWD IS350.

IS350 AWD: 3,737 lbs
IS350 RWD: 3,593 lbs

Lol. Motortrend got 0-60 MPH in 5.5 seconds with the RWD IS350...

Please go back and check it again.

The AWD time is probably closer to 5.6-5.8 seconds.

You say manual mode. Even if you do not shift does it automatically shift at red line or did you shift on your own?

Please make a video, I would love to see the 2014 IS hit 0-60 under 5!! :thumb up:
The 3 IS need to shift into 3rd gear and hit 60mph, In general, the 0-60 times is around 5 second.
I really wonder how does the 3 IS 350 compare with the 2 IS 350 0-60, 0-100 and 0- speed limiter.
Someone please do some run…haha

The steps barelomer describes really wakes up the car. And yes the car will shift automatically in manual mode if rev gets too high or too low.

Not if traction control is completely disabled. It will bounce off the revlimiter until you manually shift, in manual mode.

Can anyone verify this? I'm waiting for mine to be delivered and that one thing that was bothering me about this car was the fact it shifts itself in manual mode. This will be my first automatic car.
