breaking the law is not my intention , i was questioning the accuracy of the digital speedometer kph digits when reducing speed if i was put in a situation where i had to bring it under a certain figure. either way this is a new one for lexus , if its a success i wont be surprised if other automakers follow suit.

Not sure if the accuracy of HUD in Lexus can be a hint for that of the digital speedometer in the F Sport IS. In my RX, I always find the speed in HUD slightly slower than the analog one on the dash.

The 1987 Ford Aerostar we had when I was a kid had a fully digital dash, very common in the 80s and 90s.

I think the first use of a digital speedometer in a car was in the 70s? I recall reading something like that.
