Price Paid for an IS250/350?

Hey everyone!
I'm new to the forums so forgive me if I'm posting this in the wrong area.
I'm currently interested in purchasing a used/new IS350 F sport, I've been browsing and calling for prices and there's one that has me hooked. I wanted to see if it was a good deal, and if it is a good deal, how much down payment should I throw down as well as for how long.
I was thinking about putting 10k down.
I also graduated 2014, have a job, and I have a credit score of about 760.
The car I'm currently interested in is a 2014 IS350 F sport white exterior and black interior.
it comes included with:
-Levinson Audio
-BSM
-Navi and other bells and whistles
-Supposed to be fully loaded for an F-Sport
It has about 15k miles on it and its priced at a whopping $39,981 (although the dealer said they'd take off 1.3k)
I was also told that the new model year is coming out in August and the prices might drop for the 2014. Given this information what do you guys think I should do?
Thanks!

An equivalent 2015 can be had for about $42-3k in CA with your new grad discount (if it applies). I don't know what kind of deals you can get on a 2016 when they are first hitting the lots (vs 9 months later).
The dealer is probably into the car anywhere between $30-33k. I know this because I got a few quotes for 2014 which was very similar and this is what dealers were offering.
I'd be looking for $36-37k on the used car, and you'll have to decide if it is worth $5-6k more for a 2015 with 0 miles (I would say it is), but that is assuming that you can get them down to either of those 2 numbers.

last year i rolled 2k from my elantra into an 08 is250 and screwed myself big time.... 1 year later, i owed $16800 and carmax offered 12k even.
a buddy told me about leasing and getting out of negative equity.
picked up a 2015 is250, fully loaded minus nav. not the Fsport. rolled the 4800 into it, $0 down with a 600ish credit score (thanks US Army, you came through with medical bills) for a payment of $475 even.
10k miles, 48 months. i was paying $420 a month + 107 for a full extended warranty on the 08 with 81k miles.
overall, im saving money and getting out of car debt. the finance guy told me, with lexus specials they have, plus my debt, in 2 1/2 to 3 years, ill be even and can upgrade to a new lexus.
im new with leasing so im not sure if thats exactly true but i sure hope so. starting at $0 is wayyyyyyy better than starting at -4,800 in the hole.
car is 41,952. so 37,152 with a crap credit score and $0 down. good deal?

I would wait for the new model to see what's changed. With that kind of money, might as well buy new! Plus 2014 doesn't have a/c Seats!

Not bad based on your circumstances.

First, I doubt it's "fully loaded" unless it has both VGRS and PCS, but it is well equipped.
An equivalent 2015 can be had for about $42-3k in CA with your new grad discount (if it applies). I don't know what kind of deals you can get on a 2016 when they are first hitting the lots (vs 9 months later).

Also are we talking $42-43k OTD? CA sales tax is 9% where I live, so I'm guessing if I purchase the car for $38k used it'd end up being $41k anyways...

the 2015 has A/C seats? And yeah I do agree, it's just that tax around the bay area is 9%. Even if it was 37k I'd end up paying 41k out the door. ((
#2471
And isn't there tax on a used car bought from a dealer?
#2472
$42-43k brand new?? Might as well just buy it new then... only thing i have against buying new is driving off the lot the first time. When depreciation hits you in the face.

Hello all,
Going to meet with a dealer tomorrow. I've received an offer from another dealer. 2015 IS 350 F Sport. I'm purchasing and putting almost half MSRP down.
MSRP $49,548.00
Selling price $43,274.00
OTD price was $47,459.07
I've seen a couple better deals than this, but not too many in Southern California... and I'm Southern California.
Is this a good deal or can we do better?
