The dealer you got the quote from is feeling you out to see how much you know - they're trying to see if you're a "laydown" that they can make big money on. With your credit score, you should be able to land a decent deal on an IS. Doing a quick calculation on the car in your first post, with a 5500 discount, .0009 money factor, a 27 month/10k lease should be around 450 a month incl 6% tax using the 500 incentive as your drive off.

Be patient and work only with the Internet Depts.

By the way - do they know your credit score ? The money factor they quoted is insulting.
You might even be able to get lower than the .0009 I used in the above example - .0007 would take you to about 438 and .0005 would get you to around 425.
Yes I told him my score before he told me. And yes I agree way to high for me. I emailed 5 other dealers last night to get the bal rolling.

You should start seeing some positive results - it's the end of the quarter and there might be a few dealers out there anxious to hit a milestone - you might luck out. If need be, PM GunCrazy to get some info on the dealers and contacts he had good results with.

Good luck and keep us updated.

So finally bought my IS 250 F Sport about a week ago. Ended up paying 1k under invoice + 1k off for the grad student discount. Also didn't trade in my other car. As profile says got this in Seattle. Happy with the deal and love the car!

Do I think I could of done better? Probably, they seemed desperate to sell but being 23 and my first time buying a new car I can't complain to much. This thread definitely was a life saver!

You did very well on your first new car purchase - and you've experienced the "game" at an early age so future deals should be a piece of cake.

Welcome to the forum and congrats on your new IS!

Ya man that's a good start, the more dealerships you get involved the better your odds are. What combination are you currently open too?

I will let you know what deals I came by, ranging from UW to Atomic Silver. They are all F Sport tho, not sure if you are open to that. If you need any dealer info or anything, toss me a PM.

Did you get a rent fee? This one fee is throwing me off with current talks at one dealer.

Hey guys,

I just got one dealership to get my payment to $431/mo with tax and and a sale price $5000 less... but money factor of .0009. (I would put 2000 down towards title and fees, and they used $180 of that for the cap cost)

My goal is to now talk to 2 other dealerships, and get them to match the sale price but lower my money factor. With such a high scredit score (783), I should be getting lower than .0009.

One dealership told me that he can match this deal already, but I told him, I don't want you to match it... I want you to beat it. I asked him to lower the MF to .0005, which would make my payment 400, then I'll put another $500 down to get to $384/mo – no response back yet, but they're closed today, I'm guessing he just happened to look at my email.

The 3rd dealership, I am still waiting on.

Update* THESE ARE THE 350 F SPORTS.

Now that i think about you can do much better !!
$2000 down is about $50/m so its $483/m with 0$ down

Most dealers will quote you as a Tier3, unless they run your credit thats what they do.

I am soon to publish an e-book on buying and leasing strategies, PM with your emails whoever is interested in the book. It will have real life advices and real life negotiation techniques.

In my book you won't find any stories or general examples, it will be very technical with a lot of examples and real life negotiations strategies and tools.

You're doing good - keep it up - target for a 425 payment including tax with only the 500 lease incentive used as your drive off. If you're going to put 2-2500 up front, use it for MSDs to lower the money factor.

Bro with your credit score you should be getting way better money factors. You can even use MSD to bring your money factor down, (which I recommend). But those numbers are really high man, I know several dealerships you can get $385-$400 with tax included and 0 money down. And those numbers are for 27months it would be even cheaper with 36months, So if your payment is $431 its actually $486 because of the down payment. They are literally having a special with 0 down, and I think that's lexus wide. In your position I would not pay over $400 with 0 down. Look into MSDs, they will bring your money factor down to lowest possible. Like I said if you are willing to make a drive I can hook you up. I was willing to make a 4hr drive to pick up one of the deals, but ended up getting a local deal which worked out.

Those numbers are still high, I mean what features are you getting with no numbers, mine are all only with navigation/BSM, not additional features.

It also depends on where you live. In some states you just can't get as good of a deal as in others. $400/m is going to be tough to get unless you put down MSD or at least $1500 down. The best deal ive seen in NY state on the is350 fsport is $425/m with $800 out of pocket which is about $450/m with $0 down

True I agree, but we both live in FL. And I just got my 350 F Sport for 375/m. That was with military discount, so hes probably looking at $390-$400.
