I work as team member at the drivetrain plant in buffalo west Virginia, and im picking up my 2015 IS 350F tomorrow 6-6-15. Im buying in Columbus from Germain Lexus.....Because at my local dealer had no IS 350F in stock and only one 250F and it was new but 2014 so I have to drive 2 1/2 hours to get..... As a employee I get dealer invoice plus $1500 off plus T drive program that is another $2250 off that we get to use every 3 years.. (I used it 3 years 2 months ago on a 4 wd tundra trd ext cab..it listed at 37k got it at 29k) so Im excited to see what I get on a car that stickers at $49,800.... but will keep posted...

Yes one of the perks to working for toyota... First Lexus purchase and I'm jacked... Have owned many of the toyotas .... Funny because I've owned about 28 mustangs also.... ( never remember not having a pony in garage) ( and I am soon to be 51) I have a 2002 GT as we speak... There is something to say about being able to get a wrench into a firewall and be able to move it.... But the Lexus IS a different animal that I look forward to getting to know... As I have seen one guy from another forum posted he got OTD 44000 since his buddy is saleman at Lexus. So dealer is already make 1000 profit plus kick back from Lexus if I use Lexus finance. Am I realistic to wait and negotiate for OTD 45000 in Los Angeles since I can wait until year end ?

Thank you. I am looking for same model with OTD 45000 and it is realistic to wait until August 2015 as you got it around that price range in August 2014. No wonder Lexus had highest number of IS sale in August 2014.

Full disclosure on our deal - an $800 rebate helped and we had a $1000 loyalty certificate from Lexus finance. Those things combined with a nice discount from Lexus of Escondido resulted in a great deal. You are correct that things should heat up around August because dealers and Lexus will be looking to move the 2015s to make room for incoming 2016s - that makes negotiations a bit easier. You have a good plan - being patient and informed will land you a great deal.

Thank you for your full disclosure. My family of 4 went to Lexus dealer today and decided to pick GS 350 Base over IS 350 F Sport if Selling Price is 41000 to 42000 as I saw GS 350 Base had selling price between 41000 to 42000 at the end year of 2014 on Edmunds. Still I will update the outcome of whatever I am getting.

BTW I have been driving Honda/Acura for last 15 years and am seeing Lexus makes better car with variety of choices like BMW.

I think new is still the way to go if you can swing it and buy it at the right price unless you can find a smashing deal on a used one that has the features you are looking for.

i just got my f sport with nav, bsm no ML for 39,900 so 43k out the door i wonder if i got ripped off since sticker price is 45k ive seen better deals out there

I used to sell cars, then I decided to go back to college. That a whole other story, though.
There are so much BS that a dealer will try to pull when they are trying to get a car off the lot. Always keep in mind that you may work with the nicest salesman you have ever come in contact with, but they are not on your side. The more money you pay for a car, the more commission the salesman will make. They may want to be on your side for the sole reason of selling the car so they at least get a little something in their paycheck, but aside from that, trust yourself and only yourself when buying a car. Now to the IS. A base 2015 IS250 RWD has an MSRP of $36550 (IS250 AWD MSRP $39085). Here's a tip for you all: the more expensive the car is, the higher the profit margin is. This means there is a lot more room to negotiate. In my opinion, the 2015 IS250 MSRP of $36550 (which does not include destination, mind you) should give you approximately $2000-$3000 of wiggle room between purchase price and MSRP ($3000 is pushing it, though). Depending on the time of the year (memorial day is the best weekend/day of the year to buy a car, by the way. Generally, the beginning of summer and summer itself is the best time to purchase a car. January-mid April is the worst time). A lot of dealers are willing to lose money on a car just so they can count the car in their monthly sales when they have to report it to corporate. There are SO many more factors and I can go on and on all day about it. I hope this helps whoever is in the market for a new car.

You don't give enough details for specifics, but I priced an IS350 out with an MSRP of $45664 which has an invoice price of $42390. It looks like you were $2000-2500 under invoice which is a great deal. Congrats.
