Price Paid for an IS250/350?
#991
Finally got my deal worked out. Decided to go with Lexus of Chandler, AZ
2014 IS 350 F Sport
Nebula Ext / Black NuLuxe Int
F Sport Package
ML Premium Audio
Blind Spot Monitor
Trunk Mat
Cargo Net
Wheel Locks
Bumper Applique
MSRP = $48,098
Price agreed upon = $43,900
(Discount of $4,198)
$43,900 = Vehicle Price
+ $489 = Doc Prep Fee
+ $678.28 = License/Title
+ $3,424 = Sales Tax (Arizona @ 7.8%)
===============================
$48,491 Total Price
After some further working, we managed to come to an agreed upon price of $48,000, out the door, including TTL.
I'm not sure where he took off the remaining $491 to get us to that price, but the bottom line is $48k, which I'm satisfied with.
Financed with Navy Federal for an APR of 1.75%.
The car is on the way from Japan and my ETA for delivery is the 24th of this month.

Like others have said, don't do it. Most people have been able to get their new IS350 F-Sport ML for $1-2K more, with some actually paying less than what they're offering you. If you aren't willing to pay that $1-2K more, maybe try looking for a new one without ML, as that will easily get you close to the price of that used car.
So in summary....
CPO IS350 F-Sport (2k miles)
Nav and ML audio
VGRS
$41k

Whoa. You're the first VGRS I've seen here on the forum. How was your rate? $41 OTD? I assume fully loaded with BSM and an Accessory Package?

It was $42,900 OTD. Correct, fully loaded. I feel like I got a really good deal. The vehicle was purchased in February and then the person traded it in for a Porsche after 2k miles. Rate was treated like a new car, under 3.

Thanks mate. I particularly want to thank WiLz (and everyone else) for putting together the consolidated list of purchases. And I'd also like to thank Silec, who provided great counsel about his experience with another local dealer, which helped me get to the price that I did.

Hey guys
Looking at a 2014 IS250 AWD with Nav/Premium pack. MSRP: 44k. got it down to 39,995. +tax and tags. Is this a good deal? The discount included a 2000 discount from the dealer and a 2000 rebate. Was hoping to get closer to 38k with the rebate, I am being reasonable?
As far as color combos I am thinking either starfire/parchment, black/black or black/flaxen. Which do you guys prefer!?
Thank you for any input.

Sure.
Financed. If you use particular indirect financing options there could be dealer participation amounts involved. Where the lender pays the dealer ship a flat fee or a % or even a "buy rate". All of this factors in on the profitability for the single purchase. While you may benefit from the sales price, the dealer makes up the difference in other areas. Even in back-end products; GAP, VSC, etc. All of those allow dealers to play with the numbers.
Trade In. This one's easy. They can sell you the new unit for $3,000 below MSRP but the gave you $3,000 below normal for your trade in. Their "net" is a wash but you lost out in $3,000 of trade equity but made up for it in $3,000 below MSRP.
The point is that these purchases are snowflakes. Very rarely are two purchases the same. There are enough variables involved that could impact the figures. By knowing more of the details of the purchase, posters are able to evaluate the true nature of the purchase.
Your signature indicates: GONE - 2006 IS350. If you traded that in on this purchase it absolutely would influence the math on the purchase. If it had a trade value of $20,000, that meant it had a private party (retail) sale value of probably $25,000... if you got $18,000 in trade... then the dealer is $7,000 ahead already.
Stuff like that. Lots of variables was the point. Congrats on the new ride!!

Also don't forget to add:
1. Extended warranty- they gave you a 1k break on price. But charged you 2800 on extended warranty. It's a Lexus so most likely you won't use the warranty. Even if you do, someone else can sell you the same warranty for 1800. Their gain 1000-2800.
2. Accessories- alarms, wheels, etc. these are extremely high profit items. Wheel locks shouldn't cost $100, wheels shouldn't cost 5000, alarms shouldn't cost 800 etc
3. Paint/ rust protection, vin glass etching- once again very high profit margin items. Anywhere from 800-1500 profit to them.

That's a little high but it's also high in ohio considering I got a fully loaded IS350 F Sport ultra white roija interior for $468 month 27 months 12k. $3000 down, taxes and fees included out the door.

If you can get a 350 for $500 or less yes, $500 a month seems high for a 250 , try getting a quote on a awd 350 f sport and compare, $468 i feel was a good deal for a 350 f sport awd loaded in ohio, anxious to get it! july cant come soon enough!
