Thanks I might do that for fun but most likely just wait til the lease is up.

Also, you sound like a good candidate for a shorter term lease - because of the higher residual (73%), the payment on your cited deal is about the same (465 incl tax) for a 24 month lease.

In my market - South Florida - $3,182 off MSRP would be a very good deal.

Congrats!

You're going to get response like, it's bad to do one pay lease because if sometimes happens, your money is gone.

Default Too late now, but how did I do?

I wish I knew about this forum and thread before, and now my negotiations are an afterthought...

Anyway can someone tell me how i did? For future lease negotiations..

Brand new, still wrapped in plastic 2015 IS250 F sport, UW RR
-nav
-BSM
-back up cam
-spoiler
-door sills
Leased, selling price of $41.1k, $4k down (DIDNT realize people don't do this much and my wife thought having a lower monthly is nice, but in effect it does nothing- my mistake)
MF: 0.0012 seems high?
-monthly of $366 after tax.
36 month, 10k/year

Please enlighten me. So Cal btw...

You didn't mention the msrp - in CA, the selling price ( cap cost) should've been around 12-15% off msrp. If your credit is decent, the money factor should've been around .0009. For your next lease, don't put any more than first payment and dmv fees up front - use the extra money above that for multiple security deposits which will dramatically reduce your money factor, and consequently, your payment. At the end of the lease you get your deposits back (pending any excess mileage or damage). Also, consider a 24 month lease - with the higher residual (73%), your payment would be the same or less than the 36 month term.

All that said - you got a great car - congrats and enjoy!!

Thanks for the reply, the MSRP was $44,343. I was relying off of truecar values and **thought** I did good. My fico score is 792. But I guess that's a moot point now seeing how I don't think I can get them to amend the lease for a lower money factor. God I hate car buying.

Yeah - car buying/leasing can be a pain because they make such a cat and mouse game out of it. But you still got a decent chunk off the msrp so don't fret - these cars are great and you and your wife will love it. And now that you have found Club Lexus, there is a wealth of information and knowledge here that you can draw on to help make your experience with your new car even more enjoyable. By the time your next lease or purchase rolls around, you'll be a expert.

So with a residual of $29,246, when it comes time to either turn it in or purchase it, I can't imagine buying it for $29,246. What can be done to negotiate the buying price at lease end?

From what I understand, Lexus Finance will not negotiate buyout pricing. You're probably better off not buying out a current Lexus lease these days anyway because the residuals are a bit artificially inflated.

All that matters is you love the car --- next time, I would say you can most definitely do better. Especially because it appears on here the market in CA is saturated with dealers so I've seen people posting crazy good deals (far better than what I got).

I leased a 2015 IS-250 F Sport in November during the December-to-Remember event. MSRP was $44,512 including, BSM, backup, nav, spoiler, door sills, and a couple other things. I did a 24 month lease with 12k miles per year ... I only paid the TTL + fees up front which came to a just around $1,000 ... (acquisition fee was either $550 or $650 alone). Monthly payment is $412 after tax. They also paid my first payment for me because of the DTR event.

For your guy's reference, here's my recent lease deal in NorCa area (at end of March)...

Car: 2015 IS250 F-Sport with Blind Spot, Navigation, Accessory Package (Z1), Illum door sills, rear trunk lip, Atomic Silver/Black.
Miles on car at delivery: 31
MSRP: $44,234
Selling Price: $37,907
Rebates: Complementary First Month Payment, Lexus RC-F Drive event participation ($1000)
Mileage: 12k
Length: 36 Months
Residual: 65%
MF: 0.00006 (0.0007-0.00064 from 8 MSD's)
Monthly Payment: $252 + $22 tax = ~$274 per month after tax
Drive Off: $472 and change down to get my payment to less than $275 per month + $2,200 Multiple Security Deposits = $2,672

Thought this was a great deal that I couldn't pass up!
