I know it's too late for OP, but I test drove the 335xi M Sport last week. I can't wait to test drive the IS350. It's true that the BMW is a bit bland compared to the 3IS, but its engine, quicker shifting, exhaust note, driving experience and fuel consumption seem hard to beat. I really felt I was driving a tuned-down M3. AWD gets you 6-speed, compared to 8-speed with X drive. I might post my comparo next week, but for now I'd say test driving the 335 really got me confused when a few weeks ago I was all for the 3IS. However My main complain about BMW is still reliability...

Anyone considering a 3IS should test drive the 335, just for the sake of driving it once.

The test-drive comparison between AWD F-Sport and 335xi M Sport would be interesting.

Previously, BMW 3-series has never been in my list due to the bland interior compared to Lexus IS.

However, I appreciate the improvement in the interior of the current 3-series, especially if you opt for non-wood trim such as the aluminium trim/aluminium hexagon trim in Sport/M-Sport packages.

Reliability has been much improved in the 3-series. That what I have read.. But the parts/maintenance cost is high after the warranty period...

Yeah... it all boils down to how log you intend to keep the car. When warranty is up, Lexus is the clear winner...

I will strongly attest to that. BMW is a LEASE ONLY vehicle. I leased my first 5 series and then bought the second. What a mistake when the warranty was done. The magic number for repair, 1k and it was constant.
