Is that a big enough foot rest! Lol what's the point of that?
on the awd hump right in front of the gas pedal.

I sat in a 2013 BMW 335i X-drive and the lump is there but not as big and intrusive as in 2IS. I hope the 3IS will have this area improved a bit though I lean towards a RWD IS350.
Well, flipside mentioned it already.
It is a little hard to see in the picture.

All I know is that, I would never get the AWD b/c of this. First thing I said when sitting in the driver's seat was "what the hell is this thing humping my right my leg" ???

Yeah it's unfortunately about the same.

Sadly, this is a compromise to live with if going for AWD 3IS. Besides, it would be interesting to know the reasons why Lexus still keeps the 6-speed for 250/350 AWD.

Look forward to see if the 6-speed gets upgraded in 2014 GS350 AWD. Pricing shouldn't take long to appear..

My 3GS had the lump and I never noticed it... so i guess you get used to it quickly.

I reacted to the giant foot rest as well when I drove the new IS. And oddly it doesn't have a aluminum plate on it that matches the aluminum sport pedals, like in 2nd Gen IS.

It is true. After a while, you may forget about the lump. You know car enthusiasts pay a lot of details that the average joe might ignore or not aware of.

But I think the space under the foot in GS alleviates the disadvantage of the lump. If my memory serves, I didn't find the lump in GS bothersome.

I am hoping to explore the possibility of replacing the foot rest with the aluminium foot rest from a CT. Not sure if it looks good or works...

Default 3is

Come on guys, don't lose hope yet! LOL With a little work the 3IS can look all right!

I wasn't a fan myself until we had some renderings made of it with a nice drop and aggressive fitment. Also the washers aren't as noticeable on some of the other colors!
