Just spoke to my dealer (Bell Lexus, Phoenix AZ) yesterday and they will have the 2 new IS's on the floor in 2 weeks for demo and ordering purposes (not for sale). I am working with Internet sales and I asked about pricing and was told that there would be no premium but the best price I could probably get would be straight MSRP. I am picky about making sure the car I get is the color I want and has the options I want (basically all luxury options including ML), so I'll probably have to order mine. I don't have to have the first car off the truck, if it will save a few thousand I will wait a few months. I could also just wait to see what their inventory allocation is and pick one if it happens to be what I want.

The last time I bought a new car (non-Lexus, nothing special) I was able to get $500 under invoice, and I hate the thought of paying full MSRP but I also realize it is a new model and that it's hard to get a discount on a special order.

I was curious what kind of *actual* pricing you all are being offered? I haven't shopped around other dealers yet.

Although I'm in the Toronto area so wouldn't apply to you, I got 500$ off and that was because I was a 4th time repeat buyer with the same salesman/dealer.

So yeah, expect MSRP at least for a few months.

I am just going through the Internet sales channel. Does anyone know if Sam'sClub/Costco or AAA or any other service can get any better pricing?

Guess I'm just trying to make sure that if I do pay full MSRP that' it's about the best I can do short of waiting 6 months or longer.

I'm not sure demand is going to be overwhelming, but there probably is pent-up demand from people like me who have been waiting for the next-gen version rather than getting a '12 or '13.

An idea. Have them throw in a free window tint job or some other perk that would satisfy you getting a good deal.

Costco, USAA . . . all offer member only pricing, but usually in demand cars aren't on the list

I see a lot of wishful thinking in this thread. Let's come back down to earth. There is no way around it.... this is a hot new model from a premium, highly respected brand, with massive pent-up demand (looooong overdue and a current delay), and it will follow the business pattern all new Lexus's have followed during their debuts. Do not expect to get anything below MSRP. If you got MSRP, that is normal, and if you paid above MSRP, that would not be a surprise. If you got slightly below MSRP, consider yourself blessed and lucky.
If you are concerned about money and savings, wait six months. If you are going to be one of the first to take delivery, you cannot have your cake and eat it too. Wish I had a more positive report.

q50, ats, 3 series, new c class. Competition will be fierce. Let the initial hysteria die down, and the hard reality of getting pounded monthly in sales by the germans. BMW and MB are not above laying thousands on the hood to move metal.

Lexus don't markup their cars like Honda so don't worry about above MSRP.
And economy isn't exactly blooming so $50k cars are not going to be selling like hot cakes. My suggest is wait a few months. You never know there might even be a used one pop up after a few months.

Employee Price for IS . . .

Base IS250 RWD - $31,453
Base IS350 RWD - $34,440

Options are Invoice price. Tempted to get a IS350 with no options at that price. What do you think of the 17" wheels? Upgrade to the 18's?
