it will still be 30%-50% better than IS250 with same F-Sport spec... at least...
I would expect IS300h to do 30-35 MPG in the city where IS250 does 15-18 mpg.
Here at one point gas was $9.... nobody buys cars with V6 petrols anymore not just because of running costs but because of resale value - V6/V8 drop value like stone and you cant sell them.

where do you get 9l in your IS250? Are you driving on highways only? My wife's 88hp Nissan gets 9.5l on my route.... I have a hard time believing that IS250 will get 9l (again, on my route)... If I check Spiritmonitor.de, IS250 gets around 2l more than my own IS220d on average, which seems about right from my ownership of GS350 in Europe.... so for me, I would get 13l or 7l average... Hybrids take a bit time to get used to own, but once you do, it is easy to get good consumption... my average with Prius in the city was less than 5l, while Auris 1.6l would get 10l on average.

I drive approximately 40km per day. A mix of suburb, highway driving. The traffic situations various from free flow with 90km/h avg speed on whole route to traffic jam 20 - 30km/h avg speed. I can get around 8/100km combined on summer time (usually less traffic, and with some speeding) to 10 - 11L rest of the year. So for me the fuel saving is not that much that can overcome disappointment of CVT in 300h. If I really want to save fuel, I'll probably get a plugin Prius instead. Don't know about 300h, but one thing that's annoys me with RX and CT is the small gas tank. I find I have to refuel more often with my style of driving. I did try to drive them as hybrid supposed to be driven, but I quickly notice how I annoys other drivers on the road and have to keep me to the slow lanes. Which I'm not used to.

Sure, RPMs go up, they should go up, thats wonderful thing about CVT's - you get maximum efficient performance, both when accelerating and when cruising... it might feel different but it is different and people get used to it soon, just like you get used to diesel engine noise, or anything else really.
As to fuel tank, IS300h has a lot of these things "solved"... it is 66l tank. Same with other old "issues" like fold down seats, trunk size, etc.

you dont have to drive it slow to get good mpg :-). You just have to naturally keep it in best range when you are crusing and slowing down... thats the key. You can accelerate to the speed fast enough.
