2014 IS 250 AWD in Red Spotted Outdoors!

The headlight design destroyed the whole front of the car. The interior doesn't look good either. Too bad. This standard version looks just as weird as the F-sport version.
why can't the put in a new cruise control stalk when the wiper and signal stalks are redesigned? And that bulge on the floor, what is it?

Not sure if just the photo, but dat cheap plastic:
The headlight washers look ridiculous too. But I'm liking it overall, still would rock a gray one over this though.

Based solely on pictures, that center stack just looks cheap and choppy to me. Doesn't seem to flow nicely. It is like they had misc. parts and just threw it all together. Hopefully it will look better in person. If not, then it will be a GS F-Sport for me.

I am so excited to test this car out but the console is hideous!
The LCD panel seems to be disjoined from the lower radio/temperature control panel. The whole console doesn't flow. it looks like they were designed by two different team and put together at the last minute.
Having been a loyal Lexus customer I'm so looking forward to the IS yet am disappointed by this design boo boo.
I also agree with some's assessment that there are overall too much plastics.

I thought it's the other way around. Prototypes are designed with the best material, the best wheels to get your interests, your attention. then in the production models they get scaled down, cheapen to fit the price points isn't it?

May be it is soon to be a loaner car. That headlight washer wasn't there during the unveiling, looks ugly!!! Interior looked cheap. Now they do 60/40 split on the rear seat??? Look at that photo above, it is so Toyota. Buttons looks outdated.
I'll probably be going back to Mercedes.

Not impressed with what's shown here on the red car. Preproduction cars rarely have that big of a difference with interior materials. Everything should already be locked down by now with the pieces. This is especially true this late in the game when dealers are starting to get cars to inspect. I pray that is not the case here, but it's not looking good. The Fisher-Price plastic shown here isn't even in the same family as anything Toyota has put out in the last twenty years.
Other than the interior, there's a lot wrong with the outside The headlight washers are downright tacky, there are too many creases, cracks, crevices front and back, and the fussy spiderweb rims aren't doing the car any favors. Alas, the AWD still sufferes from the 4x4 look. I shake my head that Lexus can do so much right, yet do so much wrong. Frustrating. On the plus side, those tailpipe tips look like something I'd want on my 2IS.
