Can't wait to see what is in stored for the new IS F!
I personaly like the 3IS in Ultra White with the red interior. Very LFA like. Maybe Lexus marketing did this on purpose for the leaked photos so consumers would make a connection with the LFA and 3IS since the LFA marketing photos were mostly shown with in Whitest White and red interior as well.

just to put things into perspective, he was chief engineer of Lexus IS-F previously :-)
As we know, IS-F went through numerous changes from 2008 to 2012 in order to improve handling.
Thats probably why he talks about handling so much. And he knows what he is talking about.

2011 Lexus vehicles that also hit American shores this fall, notably the Lexus IS, which received a number of new changes for this model year—and one man who definitely doesn’t want you to forget that fact is IS Chief Engineer Junichi Furuyama.

I was in agreement with his assessment until he says "For example, taking a certain corner at a certain speed was categorized as "fun."... By doing so, we began standardizing the definition of "fun to drive"..."
I'm afraid that he's defining "fun to drive" in the wrong way, which in my opinion should be more about "feeling" directly connected to the road than about being able to take a certain corner at a certain speed.

Motor Trend just published their first drive impressions on the 2014 Lexus IS 350 F SPORT:

That's what I want to hear! The last words in his assessment of his pursuit of "fun to drive" were somehow omitted in the video published earlier. Glad to know that he does understand well that it's all about feeling rather than measurements! MT's driving impressions seem very positive. Let the reviews of the production model begin!

i think i figured it out - Yaguchi was 2006 IS chief engineer and Furuyama took over the project at some point... for 2011, it was him listed as chief engineer of 2011 Lexus IS:
https://secure.drivers.lexus.com/lex...neer-Interview
Which is actually pretty cool that he took over and then built new one as well.

Most importantly including, the creation of the IS250, IS350 & IS-C "F-Sport" Packages delivered straight from the Factory a few years back...!!!
On the other hand Yaguchi-san is also heavily involved in most or all of the Lexus F-Sport packaged car projects...
Most importantly Lexus IS-F... The Only Lexus car to where the distinguished “F" logo, besides the LFA.
We have yet to see what he will deliver with the Next Gen IS-F..
He had a lot to share when I interviewed this past August @ The Pikes Peak Hill Climb Race...

Car does look better in black.
Was disappointed with the engineer's words and expertise. His definition of fun was primitive at best. "Drove other cars and compared them..." Wow, what research. Was this the first time such a thing was discovered about the IS? Makes you wonder if they have any clue about the internet and sites like CL.
Everything he said has long been talked about here and with the auto media. * rolls eyes*

Thank you Flipside for posting these pictures of each designer. I now realize it was the 1st one that I met.
As a side note, I was looking for pictures of these people awhile ago and searched and searched the forum and could not find anything, why couldn't their pictures be posted on each appropriate forum and stickied at the top maybe with their bio or something. I mean I believe it's the least we can do to show our respect.
