I'll bet some of the posters are the same that always say, "I'll never buy the first year model due to bugs and build quality", yet they are already frothing to get in line and pay full MSRP for the new model.

Yes, there are always those who say that. I've bought the first year of many cars ('04 TL, '05 RL, '06 M45, '09 A5, '13 GS) and with the right brand the problems tend to be minimal. There was a TSB on the RL, but none of the other cars had issues. That sounds like advice my father would have given me back in the '80's.

The price surely was set when the Yen was trading in the high 70s but now it is in the high 80s. I wonder will they pass this savings along?

just out of curiosity none of the cars listed were lexus(except gs), yet you've been registered since 2002 and have 1,700 posts?

this is me purely speculating but the F Sport package is a $5690 option on the GS. I have the feeling they will price the option package a little cheaper for the IS since the GS starts $10k cheaper for the base car. The IS wont get the 19" wheels like the GS does and probably wont get the 14" rotors. So with the base IS being around $40k, maybe we can see the IS Fsport being $45k or so. Mark Levinson upgrade in the GS is $1380. Might be cheaper on the IS if there are less speakers. It appears the GS ML system is a seperate package and you dont have to purchase Navigation to get it. I hope they do the same for the IS. I dont want navigation but I do want ML.

theyre using the same engine, transmission and suspension of current model cars. thatll save a lot in development costs and hopefully savings is passed onto consumer.

i'd bet that it will be just a couple hundred bucks more than what it is now. they still have to hit price points in the models, and the newer GS and ES didnt change much in price. im probably gonna slide into another is250 in november - maybe they'll be a little flexible at that point. hopefully inventory will be available for the december to remember deals.

all the other redesigned models were priced at the previous designs price, so its pretty safe to use current MSRPs

Hi all,

Does anyone know what Lexus lease rates are typically like (money factor, residual) for a standard 36mo/36K lease? I'm coming from the world of BMWs where most people tend to lease rather than buy, mainly because BMWFS offers such awesome lease terms.. so good that they easily make up for BMW's typically higher sticker prices.

Thanks!

Wondering how many F-Sports the dealerships will have? When I got my 2012 there were only two....and not to many in the months following. However, I just went to Lexus over the weekend and there were about 6 GS 350 F-Sports and like 9 RX350 F-Sports. Wondering if they are just making that many more now?

I am surprised that the same motor and transmission is in use. The is350 motor has been in use since the middle of 2005

I would have thought they could make the engine more efficient by now. My 06 IS350 was barely getting 20MPG

I would also think the dealerships would start ordering more F Sports since customers will be asking these. Here in the NorthEast it seems as if most dealerships have 95% of their vehicles as AWD's and very few RWD or F Sports !?!

My 2011 RWD had to be brought in from another dealership down South a few years ago.

I think it'll be pretty close to what it costs now.
There is a contest for a is250 rwd f sport in Canada.
Value is supposed to be 54k, which is similar to a 2nd Gen with Ontario tax.

Lexus has underestimated F-sport demand with every vehicle they debut. The take rate is always higher than they anticipate and then they have to re-adjust allocation from the factory. it is even harder to find a GS F-sport with the Cabernet (red) leather so I hope they learned from it for the 3IS.

The LS and RX F-sport is only available with black leather so that makes things easier for them to offer. With the GS and IS F-sport offering more interior options it makes things more difficult for them to guess.
