He may have gotten it from the latest Car & Driver article where the author, in error I presume, specifically states that the 3IS has gained 200 pounds over the 2IS.
I did read it somewhere, perhaps that was it. The car grows by three inches via the GS platform so I'd guess it must weigh more unless they're using more lightweight materials? I've now read 50lbs, 176lbs and 200lbs heavier. I've also read that the IS 8 speed is the first use of a Lexus sourced 8 spd in their V6...is the RXFS using an outsourced gear box or is this another C&D error?
