Anyone Trade their 2IS for the 3IS

I've always had a car with the pedal on lever design. Maybe I'll warm up to the floor on hinge
The differences were bigger than I thought. Even though the engine is the same, everything else is very different. Suspension is smoother but handles better, chassis stiffer, 2IS steering feels like an ES compared to this one.
Another reason its there is to to mitigate unintended acceleration BS, since the floor hinge pedal cant really hang up on a floor mat

Just washed my 3IS and the GF's 2IS. I drive both all the time and I like the 3IS much better. As I've said before the 3IS just feels better. It rides better and is a very solid car. The 2IS is a great car but just feels old now. Styling and handling are better in the 3IS and my GF has the F-Sport.
Sure, Lexus cut some corners and made some decisions that we don't like on the 3IS. I miss the sunglass holder and I like the older side view mirrors. Those and other things are all minor though.
I don't dislike the 2IS. I owned an 07 IS for 5 years and it was a great car but the 3IS is a better vehicle IMHO.

Matador red is a stunning color. I have never been a fan of red cars, but when I saw a Matador red 3IS F sport in the dealer showroom when I was picking up my car, I thought this is one red car that I won't mind being seen driving.

The pursuit of F
I hope it works out for you Wednesday. Fingers crossed on the financials. And if it all works out, you will love the Matador Red Mica 250 F-Sport. It's a rare breed if you truly want exclusivity! My previous CT and 2IS were both MRM and of course this time around I switched to USB. Now, you'll make the opposite switch I did and I know you'll love it too!
Oh and despite the carryover engine, the tweaked ECU makes the car feel peppier. And if you get the RWD, you'll benefit from the new sporty 6-speed (also in the Scion FR-S) and get an even peppier car, 0.2 seconds faster to 60 mph than your current one.
Keep us posted.

Did you upgrade from 2IS to 3IS?
This question is specifically for those who owned a 2nd gen IS previously, and now have a third gen IS.
Questions -- is there anything about your 3IS that makes you feel like you traded down? I mean something the 2IS did well that you feel they screwed up with the 3IS, or some drawback that is a result of early redesigned model?
Please focus the question on apples-to-apples comparisons, for example if you had a 250 before but you now have a 350, it doesn't need to be said that your new car is faster or vice versa if you went with a smaller engine
I'm looking for specifics about the redesign, subtleties of features, interior room or gas mileage differences, stuff like that. Especially things you believe must be changed in the next couple of years of design refinements.
Thanks in advance!

I moved from a 2009 to a 2014 and it is definitely an upgrade. Same configuration on both, so it's a very apples-to-apples comparison. The only thing that I miss that I wish was on the 3IS is the accent interior LED lighting, but it's such a small thing.
Besides the obvious improvements in appearance, I most appreciate more leg room in back, head room in the front, the split folding seats, the nav/media system, and Bluetooth audio. That last one may have been available in '12 or '13, but I didn't have it in the '09.
In my opinion, it's no question that the 3IS is far and away an improvement over the 2IS.

I did the same as the poster above...so I'll just add on that...certain materials in the 3IS feels cheaper than the 2IS...I miss the memory seats, auto tilt mirror on reverse, ventilated seats, the heated seats are much weaker. Other than that I love the car...no second thoughts...
