Exclamation HID Lights Issues

So, I was driving down the highway when my HID lights started flickering and dimming. Whats weird is that both lights dim and flicker at the same time. there is no delay time between the two at all. Anyone know what the issue could be? My ballasts are almost 3 years old and I just got brand new bulbs from XenonDepot. One thing is that my battery is weak and need to get it replaced but the lights dont flicker or dim when idleing or when in park. for some reason, it only happens when driving.

Help greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

UPDATE:

I got my battery replaced with Interstate and had my alternater checked and its fine. They are still randomly flickering. I'm not sure if its the NEW bulbs i got or the Ballast.

Does it happen when you hit uneven road? I had this issue but only on one side and it was because I didn't lock the ballast into the bulb completely so it was just a bad connection. You gotta really tighten it down and make sure it's locked in place. If you have AFS and it's not locked in place the movement from side to side will pull the ballast connection even more. Make sure u didn't get the cable wrapped in the metal locking pins for the bulb as well.

I figured out the problem. Apparently i ordered 35w bulbs thinking it was 55w. I called and got new Ballasts on the way. I really wanted a 55w kit though for the extra light but i guess i'll be using 35 watt for a while.

thank you for your help!

so your ballasts were for 55w?

I'm having a issue with my aftermarket HIDs as well and would appreciate any info you can give me

Glad you figured it out. All of our bulbs are 35W. Using them with 55W ballasts will reduce the bulb life and cause them to fail early. We don't carry any 55W components due the extra heat and glare they put out. Just not worth the trade-offs for the extra light output.
