Hi,

It would make a difference assuming that your IS has halogen headlights -- not OEM HID headlights.

You would need to go with an H11 LED Headlight kit.

Your light output/visibility would decrease.

If ur headlight is oem hid imo it's not worth the time and money.. it wont be a plug and play since u need to rewire ur power that goes to ur oem ballast to ur new led ballast and u have to mod the light cover since the led bulb r freaking huge and reseal it after.. a good set of led kit will run u around $200 and the output might be the same as oem hid. Our oem projector sucks anyway.

There would actually be an increase in light output if you were to go from h11 halogen to H11 LED. Take a look at this page for several reviews:

True for halogen to LED. However, I was referring to HID to LED as the OP was asking about, which would be a down grade.

Tried the new LED bulbs (got the pricier ones at the time) on my stock halogen. The light output is definitely brighter than Halogens. And the color is great. It lights up instantly, no warm ups needed unlike HIDs. However, the beam cutoff is too narrow. It does not spread out as wide as Halogens or HIDs. The design on our stock headlights aren't meant for these LED bulbs, IMO. Other headlight designs may benefit more from these LED bulbs. I replaced my stock halogen with an HID kit which btw are far more superior than both halogens or the new LED bulbs.

Here are a couple of great reviews comparing XenonDepot H11 LED headlight bulbs to HID. HID is definitely brighter, but the results achieved by the LED bulb is quite impressive:
