Default Check VSC light on IS350?

So I just bought an IS350 on Friday! Love the car, a lot. One thing that is wrong with the car, is the check VSC light and the traction control light is on. Good thing I caught this at the dealership that I was buying it at, and they put it in my contract when I bought the car to get it all fixed. But just out of curiosity, what causes these lights to come on?

Was the check engine light on too? The car disables stability and traction control when the check engine light is on, which causes the check VSC and traction lights to come on.

In order to know what is up, you need to read the codes. A generic code reader is fairly inexpensive, and you can also get the codes read for free at Auto Zone.

Most frequent cause of the CEL is a loose gap cap, but there are dozens more unrelated causes. You need to read the codes. In your case, the dealer is taking care of it for you, so you can ask them.

Cool thanks man!
Yes the check engine light is on too. Is it something that is relatively small? Or can it be a huge issue? I have the red little triangle on, and then the HUD says check VSC, and the traction control is on.

When the check engine light is on, you can ignore the other lights, ask they are just a side effect of the CEL.

It can be anything from trivially small to something more serious. Without reading the codes, you don't know. It's like asking "There is a man sitting in the waiting room at the doctors office. What is wrong with him?"

I had the lights come on in my 07 IS350, turned out the brake light switch was defective.

Default HELP - Check Engine, VSC and Traction Control Light On!

Guys need help! I am struggling with my IS350 for a while. VSC, Check Engine and Traction control light comes on every time when the gas gauge goes to 3/4 of the tank is full and stays on until I am left with 1/4 of gas.

Changed Evap Purge Valve and Gas Cap based on recommendations from the Lexus dealer and Lexus speciality shop.

The speciality shop is not able to identify the root cause and have been going back forth more than 3 months now.
Please suggest!

P0441 - Took the car to multiple dealers to get it checked, they all come back saying that Gas Cap is fine, everything looks fine.

The check engine, CSV and traction control lights are all on.

Did you check your intake and make sure it's secure? Throttle body could also be dirty.

You should change the Evap Valve, its on top of plastic intake manifold

ZE123. Replace the fuel tank pressure sensor. That sensor only monitors pressure in the tank at the specified levels you mention.

Whatever shop you take the car to next......have them monitor the rate of "fuel tank pressure decay". And compare that value to the of the operation rate of the vent valve.

I had the same problem, same code with my sons 2008 is350 and the problem turned out to be a poorly performing

Fuel Tank Pressure Sensor. The sensor was operating correctly enough times that there was no code for that sensor, but after the decay rate was monitored and compared to vent operation, the repair tech determined that the vent or the fuel tank pressure sensor were faulty. He tested both components, replaced the pressure sensor and everything was good after that.

Independent shop. $344 repair bill.

If you already had it checked out. Check the hard evap purge line. Follow the hose from the purge valve that runs under the intake pipe to the body. What happens sometimes people forget it's clamped on the intake pipe. Once pulling the pipe off it gets either disconnected, or torn off. If everything checks out it could be the evap canister is toast. This also happens if the previous owners were topping off the gas overflowing it to the vapor canister itself.

At this point the whole evap canister must be replaced since it's a complete module. If is really want to check stuff out. Put the car on a lift, and follow the hard lines to the evap canister. They could have a bad spot if the car was up north from road salt. Also try looking at any small rubber lines that could be replaced on the canister. They could be dry rotted, and leaking. I'm not saying it could be your problem. Just bringing some points to look into.
