Omg. I have the same issue. First observed it when at 45000miles when left front tire was wearing on inner side too much. Took it to Sewell complaining and they said everything is fine. I ended up putting new shocks and that helped. But the hood was not lined up and just thought it was a long hood and could be misaligned. NOT. Now my car has 111,000 miles and 7 years

Check your roof too... Your shock tower is bent up for sure. That is the issue at hand. It affects almost everyone if you have the car long enough

Wow, this is alarming news. Chassis flex after a pothole hit? You expect maybe suspension misalignment or tire/rim damage but not this. I'd expect something alarming like this popping up in a chevy, chrysler, or ford vehicle, not a toyota and certainly not a Lexus.

I have a 2008 IS2 that has the dent up by the moon roof. I guess I just assumed that it had been from the previous owner, and didn't worry about it. The car handles fine, I had it for 2.5 years, and experienced many, many, Wisconsin potholes that are unavoidable and numerous. The only suspension issue comes when its extremely cold and the shock thunks til it warms up...then nothing. Lexus here couldn't duplicate, so I dealt with it. It seems now that I may need to ask around...

Thanks for the heads up!

Holy crap I just found this thread! Does this happen to the 350s as well? My wife and I hit our share of potholes since we live in good ol NJ. So far fingers crossed this hasn't happened to us. Car has 116k miles now. Sorry to hear this happening to others though. Damn that blows.

Any pictures of the pothole? I've bent one of my wheels from SD potholes and now I'm scared. Sometimes it's like driving on the moon

Roof has no dents, but sunroof rattles, and the rearview mirror keeps shaking, and loosens up after few thousand miles

Interesting, I knew that the roof dents were common but had no idea that it was from pot holes!
