yikes.
I like to watch the car in front of me to see if they hit any potholes which warns me ahead of time
also, we should be keeping a good distance from the car in front to avoid rock chips anyway
gotta pay attention and take care of our cars!

This is interesting because my ex girlfriend drove straight into a curb head on is my 2is when she wasn't paying attention going through a t-intersection and all it needed was two wheels and two lower control arms. And this wasn't a slanted curb either it was a dead square curb. Either I got lucky(well I wouldn't consider someone else crashing my car lucky) or there is just a bad batch of cars out there. Btw mine is a June 2008 model year 2008 vehicle

Oh, I'm always looking many cars ahead of me in traffic...if possible. In this case the cars in front of me where driving slightly to the right within the lane and didn't make any quick motions. I was dead-center and was the unlucky one to hit it . Didn't make any quick motions to avoid it, was just too late.

So would this damage less likely happen if we had stiffer spring rates and higher dampening?

I ordered 20k/18k swift springs and Im hoping I wont ever have this problem even if I hit potholes

If I'm on an unfamiliar road or I know a street is known for pot holes I will drive on the line. There are rarely any pot holes on that spot of the pavement.

Was a wheel damaged or bent from the pothole hit?

All year I believe IS250 2006-2013. But my wife used to have 2007 IS250 and she had no issue at all.

I've gone over many potholes in MA, but I've never had that issue with my 2009 IS.

Every manufacturer will have issues associated with a particular model - my BMW 335i had carbon issues at 35k.

I do see some reasonable insurance in a strut brace/subframe brace. Displacing the impact will go a long way in keeping structural integrity. Not saying this is acceptable but it certainly can't hurt

Odd to see so many people without issues however

I'd be really interested to tract those of you who have not had issues and what suspension modifications if any you have installed. We should get a poll going

07 IS 250 Sport slicktop 140k no issues.

Then again, I don't think I've seen a pothole in Germany - well, ever.

Wait, I take that back, 54.361197, 12.559394 (yes I had to resort to this -- Google Maps its) I have seen potholes before, but given its a culdesac speeds of 40 MPH isn't really possible.
