I guess i might as well being stuck in traffic with a nice car. My next car will either be the ISF (similar to the IS350 with a lot more power or the more luxurious GS350).

You must not have driven to SF at peak time. My next car... Who knows I want them all! But the leader is a Tesla

Try driving from SF to East Bay during rush hour and back. Any commute that involves Bay Bridge + SF is the worst.

I'm surprised you are still around. I remember you were one of the first people on the 2IS forums back in the day.

The IS is definitely more fun to drive than the GS

Get the GS if you have kids/more room in the back

Plus one for this. I just upgraded to a 2010 IS350 from a 2008 IS250 AWD. Safe to say I'm incredibly happy with the increased power.

They're both luxury sports sedans. Just as the BMW 3 and 5 series are both luxury sports sedans.

The IS will probably handle a little better and have a little better performance but both are far more than enough for street driving.

Here's a guy doing some impressive driving in a 3GS running from the cops:

Unfortunately Caltrain is not that accessible for me. I still need to get to the station from home then from the station to work. I probably spending more time there.
I try to avoid SF at all costs and only go up there if i really have too.

If you're serious on his offer, give your car a decent clean up and see what Carmax will offer you. Its almost always higher than a trade-in amount, and you get private owner pricing rather than a dealer by buying off him. Win-win situation.

I had a 2011 is350 F-sport and I miss that car for the gas mileage and the performance. I don't know much about the gs350 but now that I'm in a newer is350, awd 3is is350, the 2is is350 rwd felt so quick cuz of its lightweight body compared to other cars in its class. I loved my 2is is350 fsport. I miss that car a lot! I always felt for its price, it was the best bang for buck.
