Default How Much Do You Pay for Oil Change?

Hey guys,

Just curious if $60 for an oil change with 5w-30 and $12 for the oil filter is expensive? I did it at brake check and was wondering if it was too expensive? I know alot of you guys do it yourself but I don't have a garage to do it so I'll just have to get it serviced some place.

How much do you guys pay for your oil change?

Depends on the oil used and where you live. I am sure an oil change in Vancouver, Canada is more than in Texas.

Cheap oil change = $30

Quick convenient oil change at a drive through place = $50? And maybe $80-100 for synthetic.

I usually pay about $60 for full synthetic and I bring my own filter.

It seems that I paid just the right price then for the 5w-30 synthetic. Thanks!

$36.25 including tax for 6.6 quarts of 5w30 Kendall GT-1 synthetic blend and a new Firestone oil filter for my IS350 at a local independent Firestone shop in the Houston, TX area...plus about $1 to provide them with a new oil drain plug gasket since they don't normally change them out with their oil changes.

You can bring in your own oil to the dealer too. I used to bring in my Mobil 1 synthetic from Costco.

Glad to see the dealership is not so bad for a reg oil change. I used to go to a lube and fill down the street from my house, but it was $85 for synthetic. I would normally do it all myself.
Granted this is my first new to me Lexus and I am planning on taking it to the dealership just to get the experince at least once.

I used to pay $70 at the local "Stealership" for a couple years till I discovered they were putting in regular conventional oil. I thought they were using synthetic this whole time. Met a great local mechanic and he does it for me for around $50 using syn blend + filter.

It's $110 for me in Los Angeles here, full Synthetic Mobil One. Valvoline charges $125 for it.

Is that the price of just the labor correct? You'd have to buy your own oil filter + the synthetic oil? Wouldn't that run in the $100+?

Price for labor and filter. They also do an comprehensive inspection and top off fluids.

~$70 for me. they basically do everything for me. I just bring the car in! thinking about switching though because their mechanics don't know how to take care of modded cars -.-
